*         Miner Emporium:  Come by the Miner Emporium (student store) and check out the new gear. We have beanies, bucket hats, hoodies and t-shirt with our new logo. Get them while supplies last.

*         The Marines will be on campus on Mondays in the quad area, the Army will be on campus on Tuesdays in front of the Career Center, the Navy will be on campus on Wednesdays in front of the Career Center, and the National Guard will in front of the Career Center to answer any questions you may have.

STUDENT NOTES

*         ASVAB Test:  Juniors and Seniors: The ASVAB Test will be given here on campus Wednesday, October 25th in the library at 8:30am. If you would like to participate please sign-up in the Student Services office.

*         FALL RALLY:  There will be a Fall Rally on Friday, October 20th during Homeroom. All students will not report to their Homeroom class on this day. Please leave your backpacks in your second period classes and when the bell rings, students are to head straight to the gym for the Fall Rally. After the rally, you will go to second period, pick up your belongings and go straight to your 4th period class.

SENIOR NOTES

*         FAFSA NIGHT:  Seniors if you signed up to attend the FASA Night on Thursday, October 19th,

Please be sure to bring to your session:

o   Your Social Security Card & Driver's License or State ID or Permanent Resident Card (If you are not a US Citizen)

o   Your and your parent(s)' 2016 Federal Income Tax Return & W-2 Forms (if available)

o   Your and your parent(s)' 2016 bank statements and investment records.

o   Any records of untaxed income received in 2015 such as Social Security benefits, child support received, TANF benefits, payments to IRAs or 401K's or military or clergy allowances.

o   List of colleges you have applied to or are interested in attending.

o   Bring FAFSA pin number if you have it.

*         COS Scholarship:  The COS Scholarship Application is now open. The deadline to submit your application is NOVEMBER 27.  For more information visit: www.cos.edu/scholarships<http://www.cos.edu/scholarships>.

*         Cap, Gown & Graduation Announcements:  Attention Seniors and Senior Parents:  Ordering information packets were distributed on October 17th at the senior cap and gown presentation during home room in the EDHS Gym.  Cap, Gown and Graduation Announcement orders will be accepted on Monday, October 23rd in the Civics / Econ Classes.  Students who do not have a Civics / Econ class may place their orders during lunch outside room 617.

*         Scholarship Workshop:  Seniors-Ms. Bitney is hosting an ongoing scholarship workshop on Mondays and Wednesdays after school in room 605 from 3:30 to 4:30.  This is a great resource for assistance and information about scholarships, so make sure to go by and see her.

*         CSU Application Workshop:  Seniors-if you missed the last CSU application workshop but are applying to a CSU school, you have one more chance to get some help with the application-come in to the student services office and sign up for the Thursday, November 9th in the Library CSU workshop.  Do it quickly, because the spaces will fill up.

*         FAFSA at COS:  COS is once again a host site for the Univision "It's FAFSA Time" campaign. The event will take place on November 4th from 10:00-2:00 on the Visalia Campus in Sequoia Building, Room 156. COS Financial Aid staff will assist anyone needing help with their application, regardless of the college they attend or plan to attend.  Please see attached flyer.

*         Fresno State:  Will be offering three Saturday workshops on campus to assist students with the new fall 2018 application. Workshops are held in University Center 123<http://www.fresnostate.edu/map/> (UC123) east of the library on October  28 and November 18 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Parking is relaxed for all three days. Getting admitted to the campus starts with an accurate and complete application. We look forward to seeing your students at the workshops. Computers and Wi-Fi will be available but students are encouraged to bring their own laptop or tablet. Students can RSVP at:

*         UC Application Workshop:  Seniors interested in attending a UC-there is an evening UC workshop scheduled for 6:00pm-7:30pm on Monday, October 23 in the Library.  Please be sure to attend this important UC workshop with your parent.  Come in to the student services office ASAP to sign up.

*         COS Application Workshop:  Seniors--There will be a COS Application Workshop with a representative from COS on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 in the Library.  Please sign-up in Student Services office.  Space is limited, and will fill up quickly.

*         College Application Workshops: Seniors and parents!  See the attached list of College Application Workshops as well as other helpful workshops and informational meetings that will be held at El Diamante and the District Office throughout the year.  We will advertise events at El Diamante individually as they come up.

*         Senior Panoramic Picture:  Attention all Seniors; It's almost time for the senior panoramic picture.  Mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 18, 2017.  Seniors should report to your homeroom class, and then go to the gym for the picture.  No props, sign hand gestures, etc.  Please be careful not to block anyone's face from the pictures.  You are expected to dress appropriately (in dress code).  Anyone who is inappropriately dressed will not be allowed in the picture
