Monday - Think red, white & blue and show your patriotism.
Tuesday - Dress like your favorite Super Hero or Super Villain.
Wednesday - Think first responders or whoever you see as a hero.
Thursday - Think Tony Stark and Pepper Fancy Dress.
Friday - Spirit Day wear green.

*         Miner Emporium:  Come by the Miner Emporium (student store) and check out the new gear. We have beanies, bucket hats, hoodies and t-shirt with our new logo. Get them while supplies last.

*         The Marines will be on campus on Mondays in the quad area, the Army will be on campus on Tuesdays in front of the Career Center, the Navy will be on campus on Wednesdays in front of the Career Center, and the National Guard will in front of the Career Center to answer any questions you may have.

STUDENT NOTES

*         CSF:  Will be selling Boo Grams. Send a friend a spooky greeting and support or charity fund. Sold at lunch in front of the library or gym.

*         Fresno State Smittcamp Honors College Presentation:  There will be a Fresno State representative to

present information about Fresno State's Smittcamp Family Honors College to any interested El Diamante Seniors and Juniors.

The criteria for current seniors to apply are:

*         A minimum 3.8 GPA

*         Ranking in the top 10% of your high school graduating class

*         Combined SAT score of 1200 or ACT average score of 27

The presentation will be during homeroom in the Library on Friday, October 27, 2017.  Any interested senior or junior student must sign-up in Student Services to attend.

*         Day of the Dead Workshop: Will be on October  26th. Come to Lab 62 to learn the history of Dia de los Muertos and learn how to make Sugar Skulls.

SENIOR NOTES

*         COS Scholarship:  The COS Scholarship Application is now open. The deadline to submit your application is NOVEMBER 27.  For more information visit: www.cos.edu/scholarships<http://www.cos.edu/scholarships#_blank>.

*         Scholarship Workshop:  Seniors-Ms. Bitney is hosting an ongoing scholarship workshop on Mondays and Wednesdays after school in room 605 from 3:30 to 4:30.  This is a great resource for assistance and information about scholarships, so make sure to go by and see her.

*         CSU Application Workshop:  Seniors-if you missed the last CSU application workshop but are applying to a CSU school, you have one more chance to get some help with the application-come in to the student services office and sign up for the Thursday, November 9th in the Library CSU workshop.  Do it quickly, because the spaces will fill up.

*         FAFSA Univision Event:  COS is once again a host site for the Univision "It's FAFSA Time" campaign. The event will take place on November 4th from 10:00-2:00 on the Visalia Campus in Sequoia Building, Room 156. COS Financial Aid staff will assist anyone needing help with their application, regardless of the college they attend or plan to attend.  Please see attached flyer.

*         FAFSA at COS: Financial Aid Staff & Student Success Coordinators will help you apply at COS Visalia Campus in Kern room 733 from 1:00-3:00pm. They will also be at the Hanford Center on Nov 6th in the Education room 67 from 2:30-4:30pm and in Tulare Center on Nov. 29th Bldg. B 214 from 12:00-2:00pm.  Please bring: 1) Parent and Student Income Tax Returns & W2's. 2) Student & Parent's Social Security Numbers and Date of Birth. *         Fresno State:  Will be offering three Saturday workshops on campus to assist students with the new fall 2018 application. Workshops are held in University Center 123<http://www.fresnostate.edu/map/> (UC123) east of the library on October  28 and November 18 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Parking is relaxed for all three days. Getting admitted to the campus starts with an accurate and complete application. We look forward to seeing your students at the workshops. Computers and Wi-Fi will be available but students are encouraged to bring their own laptop or tablet. Students can RSVP at:
