*         Miner Emporium:  Come by the Miner Emporium (student store) and check out the new gear. We have beanies, bucket hats, hoodies and t-shirts with our new logo. Get them while supplies last.

*         The Marines will be on campus on Mondays in the quad area, the Army will be on campus on Tuesdays in front of the Career Center, the Navy and National Guard will be on campus on Wednesdays in front of the Career Center.

STUDENT NOTES




*         Congratulations to Tyler Caldwell and Sebastian Sanchez for being named to the first team all-Tulare County wrestling team and to Javier Cardenas for being named to the second team all-county.

*         Students: If you are a Senior and went to Crestwood Elementary for at least 3 years, please see Ms. Reynolds in Student Services for their scholarship.

*         For all returning and those wanting to play boys basketball, there will be an informational summer parent meeting April 30th at 5 p.m. in the cafeteria.  For any other basketball information, please visit Coach Guzman in room 309.

*         Students: One of our Stellar Seniors is collecting used musical instruments as donations to provide for students who would like to be in band but can't afford the instrument. On April 28th there will be a used instrument collection from 2-6 PM at A&W on Mooney. Donate an instrument and get a free root beer float! *         Have you ever wanted to play golf? We are always looking for more players on the Girls Golf Team. All players are welcome, no experience necessary. We can provide golf clubs, golf balls, and everything else. Looks great on college and scholarship applications. Have fun and make great relationships with your teammates. Please stop by Mr. Abbott's class in room 366 anytime for more information. And don't forget about our Girls Golf meeting DURING LUNCH on Tuesday, May 1 in room 366.

*         Anyone interested in playing girls volleyball next season should stop by room 368 to get information and sign up with Coach Clyburne before May 4th. This includes new players and those who played last season.

*         If you are interested in drumming with our EDHS Band next year, fall drum camps will begin on Tuesday, May 1st and will run from 3:30-5:30. Anyone interested is welcome to attend!

*         Anyone interested in spinning with the EDHS color guard is invited to attend our workshops to prepare for fall season. The first workshop will be held on Monday, April 30th, from 3:30-5:30.

*         Attention Juniors and Seniors:  THE JUNIOR/SENIOR PROM "Una Bella Notte a Venezia" is Saturday, May 12 from 8 - 11 PM at the Visalia Convention Center!  Tickets will be on sale starting May 7. Prices are $25 single ticket with ASB; $35 single ticket w/o ASB; $45 single ticket at the door.  If your date to the PROM is not currently a Junior or Senior in VUSD you must have an approved guest pass for them to purchase a ticket.  Also, if your date is not a VUSD student you must have an approved guest pass in order for your guest to attend the dance.  Guest passes may be picked up in the Student Services Office and must be turned back in to Mrs. Vang by Wednesday, May 9 by 4:00 pm in order to get it approved.  Remember that you must be clear of all fines in order to be eligible to purchase a ticket.

*         Want to play a sport next year?????  Sports Physicals will be held @ El Diamante on Thursday, May 17th. Pick up packet from the Nurse or Front office. Turn in $2.00 fee with completed packet by May 11th to the Nurse. NO LATE SIGNUPS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

*         Students, if you need to request a Pink Slip, please go to Mrs. Springer's room 318.  You can put in a request to get your Pink Slip before school, during homeroom, and during lunch. Please allow 3 days for processing before picking it up. We will no longer issue Pink Slips in the Student Services office.

*         Online Summer School:  Sign-up sheets are now available in the Student Services Office for online summer school.  The classes available are World History, US History and Civics/Econ.  Students must have at least a 3.0 overall GPA to be eligible to take online summer school.  Sign-ups are on a first come, first served basis and are limited to 30 students per course.

SENIOR NOTES




*         Seniors Attending Grad Nite:  As a reminder, you must attend school on Thursday, May 3rd in order to be eligible to attend Grad Nite on Friday, 5/4/18.  The only acceptable excuse would be a Doctor's note to clear the absence.

*         Attention Seniors! Commencement Dress Code:  Staff will check for appropriate attire before being allowed into the Redwood Gym graduation night. Men: Collared shirt, tie, dress shoes, dress slacks -- no denims or Levis. Women: Dress or dressy pants, dress shoes. No flip flops, sandals, Birkenstocks, tennis shoes, shorts, sunglasses, cameras or other distractive accessories.  No alterations to cap and gown are allowed!  This will be strictly enforced!  We will all wear our caps and gowns as they come out of the box to preserve the dignity of the event.

 1.  Seniors: Reminder that graduation practice is Friday, June 1 at 8 a.m. at the Mineral King Stadium.  Please bring a pen or pencil.  Practice is mandatory.  Don't be late!   Please remember, if you are planning on walking you must attend practice.  Students not at the practice will not be allowed to participate in the event.  You must also have all student fines and obligations taken care of to participate in the Commencement ceremony. No alterations to caps and gowns are allowed.  Please pay close attention to the parking restrictions around the Bowl when attending graduation practice and the ceremony.  Violators presenting safety hazards and not adhering to the parking restrictions could be cited and/or towed.   *If you have any questions call Mrs. Vang at 735-3504.

 1.  Finals for Seniors only will begin on Tuesday, May 29 Periods 0, 2, 4 and Wednesday, May 30 Periods 0, 1, 3 and Thursday, May 31 Periods 5 and 6.

 1.  Finals for all underclassmen will begin on Wednesday, May 30 - Periods 0, 1, and 3.  Thursday, May 31 - Periods 0, 1 and 3 and Friday, June 1 - Periods 2 & 4.  Finals end at 12:30 each of these days.  Buses will leave at 12:40 each day.

*         Seniors- Final Transcript requests are available in the Student Services Office. If you want us to send your transcript to your college after graduation please be sure to include the address of the college you want it mailed to on the form. All forms need to be turned in to Mrs. Davis.

*         Seniors: If you have received a scholarship from any organization, please come to Student Services and let Mr. Buenafe or Ms. Reynolds know.

*         Scholarship Workshop:  Seniors-Ms. Bitney is hosting an ongoing scholarship workshop on Mondays and Wednesdays after school in room 605 from 3:30 to 4:30.  This is a great resource for assistance and information about scholarships, so make sure to go by and see her.

*         Seniors-College Covered is offering a drawing to randomly select 11 eligible students to win a $10,000 scholarship award. For details, go to www.collegecovered.com<http://www.collegecovered.com>

*         Cap & Gowns:  Seniors if you missed your opportunity to place your orders, you have 3 options to ensure you order in time for graduation.
