*         Miner Emporium:  Come by the Miner Emporium (student store) and check out the new gear. We have beanies, bucket hats, hoodies and t-shirts with our new logo. Get them while supplies last.

*         The Marines will be on campus on Mondays in the quad area, the Army will be on campus on Tuesdays in front of the Career Center, the Navy will be on campus on Wednesdays in front of the Career Center.







STUDENT NOTES




*         Students, if you have lost any items this semester, please come to the attendance office before school, at lunch or after school, to check the lost and found pile before Spring Break.  Any unclaimed items will be donated to the Goodwill during Spring Break.

*         Students, please be informed that as of April 3, 2018 (after Spring Break), beanies & hats will no longer be allowed and dress code will be enforced.

*         Juniors & Seniors: If you are interested in the Navy and/or the Marines, there will be an informational presentation Wednesday, March 21st, 2018. Please sign-up in Student Services if interested.

*         Students: If you need to request a Pink Slip, please go to Mrs. Springer's room 318.  You can put in a request to get your Pink Slip before school, during homeroom and during lunch. Please allow 3 days for processing before picking it up. We will no longer issue Pink Slips in the Student Services office.

*         CLYLP - Chicano Latino Youth Leadership Program applications are due April 11th.  A week long intensive leadership program for students in 10th & 11th grade.  Workshops include leadership skills, academic preparedness, self-esteem and cultural-awareness. You can get more information at the following website: http://clylp.org/

*         Online Summer School:  Sign-ups sheets are now available in the Student Services Office for online summer school.  The classes available are World History, US History and Civics/Econ.  Students must have at least a 3.0 overall GPA to be eligible to take online summer school.  Sign-ups are on a first come, first served basis and are limited to 30 students per course.

*         Applications for officer elections and Leadership class are available in Student Services or room 601. Deadline is today, March 15th. If you have any questions please see Ms. McKee in room 601.

*         Do you like to write? Do you like to take pictures? Do you like to work with InDesign or Photoshop? If any of these sound good to you, register for Journalism next year. Looking for interested students to be a part of The Dig. If that is YOU, see Ms. Moore in room 606 or your learning director.

*         Current Sophomores and Juniors: The Ambassador Applications are now available online and in the Student Services Office. The application must be completed with two teacher recommendations. This program will take place in the 2018-2019 school year. As a reminder, you must have an overall 2.75 GPS to become an Academic Ambassador. See your Learning Director if you have questions. Applications are due to student services, Mrs. Vang by April 1st.

SENIOR NOTES



*         Seniors! If you want your photos included in the Senior Slide Show on May 23, you must submit your photos to ASB by Friday April 6. Please submit senior photos to: all4theminers at gmail.com<mailto:all4theminers at gmail.com>.

*         Seniors: Cap and Gowns will be delivered to seniors who have placed an order on March 22 during Homeroom. If you still have not ordered your cap and gown please contact Jostens as soon as possible. Students must check into their homeroom classes before heading to the gym to pick up their cap and gowns. You must have your Student ID to pick up. See your Learning Director if you have questions.

*         Attention Seniors: If you are interested in auditioning for the musical performance at the El Diamante High School Graduation Ceremony on June 1, please sign up in Student Services Office before Monday, April 9. Auditions will be on Tuesday, April 24 at lunch and/or after school in the room #702. See Mrs. Vang if you have questions.

*         Attention Seniors: If you are interested in auditioning to be the Graduation Speaker at the El Diamante High School Graduation Ceremony on June 1, please sign up in Student Services by Wednesday, April 11 and pick up the information sheet detailing the speech criteria. You must submit a copy of your speech by April 18 to Mrs. Vang. Auditions will be at lunch and/or after school in the career center on April 26. See Mrs. Vang if you have questions.



*         Scholarship Workshop:  Seniors-Ms. Bitney is hosting an ongoing scholarship workshop on Mondays and Wednesdays after school in room 605 from 3:30 to 4:30.  This is a great resource for assistance and information about scholarships, so make sure to go by and see her.

*         Seniors attending COS after graduation: COS is offering a support program for Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM) majors at COS. This program serves incoming freshmen studying STEM at COS by guaranteeing them a seat in hard-to-get critical science and math courses. *         Seniors-College Covered is offering a drawing to select students to win $10,000                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           scholarships. *         Seniors: Transcript request forms are available in the Student Services Office. If you need an official transcript, please fill this out and allow 2-4 days for Mrs. Davis to process your requests. Your first 3 Official transcripts are free.  After that you will be charged $1 per transcript.

*         Cap & Gowns:  Seniors if you missed your opportunity to place your orders, you have 3 options to ensure you order in time for graduation.

*         Attention Parents: To purchase Miner Swag please visit the EDHS Fan store on the EDHS Website: http://vusd.org/ElDiamante



*         The Miner Foundation Dinner is coming up.  The event will be held on Saturday, April 21st at the Elks Lodge.  Tickets will be available for purchase in the Financial office and there also is a link on El Diamante's website. Tickets are $25 person for anyone over the age of 21. The Foundation is also seeking donations. The event proceeds will directly benefit students through scholarships and campus projects. The proceeds from your donated item will earn money for your club or team- 50% of proceeds from your donation go back to your group. If you have a business or know of someone that is able to donate items, please let us know! There will be a link on the website with the donation letter and donor form to be completed and returned.



Donated items can vary from gift certificates, baskets for the silent auction to larger items like vacation lodging that may raise funds through the live auction.
