* Miner Emporium: Come by the Miner Emporium (student store) and check out the new gear. We have beanies, bucket hats, hoodies and t-shirts with our new logo. Get them while supplies last.
* The Marines will be on campus on Mondays in the quad area, the Army will be on campus on Tuesdays in front of the Career Center, the Navy and National Guard will be on campus on Wednesdays in front of the Career Center.
* The Reflections Assembly will be on Wednesday, May 23. The bell schedule will be: 2, 4, assembly, lunch then 6th period. All students are required to attend this assembly. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Vang in Student Services. The bell schedule is below:

STUDENT NOTES
* Hey Miners, as the year is coming to a close, remember to order your yearbook while you can! Yearbook sales stop next Friday May 18th and you do not want to miss out! You can buy it online, in the finance center, or in room 603 with Mr. Jarocki.
* Facet Night begins at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, May 23 for SENIORS ONLY. At 6:00 PM Facet Night will begin for all Underclassmen! Yearbooks will be distributed in the EDHS library. IF MONEY IS OWED, there will be a sales table with extra autograph sections, photo pocket pages, and clear protective covers for sale. If there are any Yearbooks left, they will be on sale on a first come, first serve basis for $90 cash. All transactions must be in cash.
* Join Mr. Young at Saturday University 5/12/18 for his Weekend Warrior class. Need to make-up attendance during Saturday University? Want to get in shape while you do it? Or are you just looking for some fun people to work-out with? (see attachment)
* Girls interested in joining the fall 2018 Miner Tennis team, see Coach Harding in Room 301 this week. Clinics will start on 15 May and Varsity tryouts will begin June 5.
* The blood drive is scheduled for Thursday, May 24. If you are 16 years old, 110 pounds, and in good health and have parent permission you can give. Students need to sign up for a time slot to donate blood in the Student Services Office and pick up a parent permission form. Staff are welcome to donate as well. Breakfast will be provided before school for those donating.
* If you are interested in joining either Concert Choir or Advanced Women's Choir for next year, but did not get a chance to audition, please come talk to Mr. Witt in the choir room during lunch to schedule your audition.
* Attention Juniors and Seniors: THE JUNIOR/SENIOR PROM "Una Bella Notte a Venezia" is Saturday, May 12 from 8 - 11 PM at the Visalia Convention Center! Tickets will be on sale starting May 7. Prices are $25 single ticket with ASB; $35 single ticket w/o ASB; $45 single ticket at the door. If your date to the PROM is not currently a Junior or Senior in VUSD you must have an approved guest pass for them to purchase a ticket. Also, if your date is not a VUSD student you must have an approved guest pass in order for your guest to attend the dance. Guest passes may be picked up in the Student Services Office and must be turned back in to Mrs. Vang by Wednesday, May 9 by 4:00 pm in order to get it approved. Remember that you must be clear of all fines in order to be eligible to purchase a ticket.
* Students, if you need to request a Pink Slip, please go to Mrs. Springer's room 318. You can put in a request to get your Pink Slip before school, during homeroom, and during lunch. Please allow 3 days for processing before picking it up. We will no longer issue Pink Slips in the Student Services office.
* Finals for all underclassmen will begin on Wednesday, May 30 - Periods 0, 1, and 3. Thursday, May 31 - Periods 0, 5 and 6 and Friday, June 1 - Periods 2 & 4. Finals end at 12:30 each of these days. Buses will leave at 12:40 each day.

* Finals for Seniors only will begin on Tuesday, May 29 Periods 0, 2, 4 and Wednesday, May 30 Periods 0, 1, 3 and Thursday, May 31 Periods 5 and 6.
* Attention Seniors! Commencement Dress Code: Staff will check for appropriate attire before being allowed into the Redwood Gym graduation night. Men: Collared shirt, tie, dress shoes, dress slacks -- no denims or Levis. Women: Dress or dressy pants, dress shoes. No flip flops, sandals, Birkenstocks, tennis shoes, shorts, sunglasses, cameras or other distractive accessories. No alterations to cap and gown are allowed! This will be strictly enforced! We will all wear our caps and gowns as they come out of the box to preserve the dignity of the event.
1. Seniors: Reminder that graduation practice is Friday, June 1 at 8 a.m. at the Mineral King Stadium. Please bring a pen or pencil. Practice is mandatory. Don't be late! Please remember, if you are planning on walking you must attend practice. Students not at the practice will not be allowed to participate in the event. You must also have all student fines and obligations taken care of to participate in the Commencement ceremony. No alterations to caps and gowns are allowed. Please pay close attention to the parking restrictions around the Bowl when attending graduation practice and the ceremony. Violators presenting safety hazards and not adhering to the parking restrictions could be cited and/or towed. *If you have any questions call Mrs. Vang at 735-3504.

Please: No balloons or noisemakers allowed at graduation to ensure all parents will be able to see and hear their student's name clearly. Enjoy the ceremony.
* Seniors- Final Transcript requests are available in the Student Services Office. If you want us to send your transcript to your college after graduation please be sure to include the address of the college you want it mailed to on the form. All forms need to be turned in to Mrs. Davis.
* Seniors: If you have received a scholarship from any organization, please come to Student Services and let Mr. Buenafe or Ms. Reynolds know.
* Scholarship Workshop: Seniors-Ms. Bitney is hosting an ongoing scholarship workshop on Mondays and Wednesdays after school in room 605 from 3:30 to 4:30. This is a great resource for assistance and information about scholarships, so make sure to go by and see her.
* Cap & Gowns: Seniors if you missed your opportunity to place your orders, you have 3 options to ensure you order in time for graduation.
