·         Miner Emporium:  Come by the Miner Emporium (student store) and check out the new gear. We have beanies, bucket hats, hoodies and t-shirts with our new logo. Get them while supplies last.

·         The Marines will be on campus on Mondays in the quad area, the Army will be on campus on Tuesdays in front of the Career Center, the Navy will be on campus on Wednesdays in front of the Career Center, and the National Guard will be on campus on Thursdays in the quad area, to answer any questions you may have.

Today:

·         Seniors: The COS Application Workshop will take place today, please report to Computer Lab #61 during the period notated on your green pass.

·         Reminder: Girls soccer conditioning starts today 10/15. Meet on the bleachers on the track by 3:30.

·         Girls basketball workouts and conditioning Monday October 15th 7-830pm, Tuesday October 16th 330-5pm and Thursday October 18th 7-830pm. Tryouts will be held October 29-31. For more info join the basketball remind by texting @eldmine to 81010.

New Announcements:

·         Hello students: All unclaimed items in the Lost & Found will be donated to the Goodwill this Friday, 10/19/18. Lost and Found items are located outside of attendance. Thank you.

Old Announcements:

·         Students interested in taking the ASVAB test; it will take place Wednesday, October 31st, 2018 at 8:00 AM in the EDHS Library. This test measures a young adult's strengths, weaknesses, and potential for future success. This is for grades 10-12 only. Please sign-up in Student Services.

·         Students if you need to request a DMV Pink Slip, please go to Mrs. Springer's room 318 with your transcript. You can put in a request to get your Pink Slip before school, during homeroom, and during lunch. Please allow 2 school days for processing before picking it up. We will no longer issue Pink Slips in the Student Services office.

·         Seniors: There are now sign-up sheets in Student Services for the following workshops:

o   COS Application Workshop-October 15th from 9 AM - 12:30 PM

o   FAFSA Cash for College Workshop-October 18th @ 5, 6, & 7 PM

o   CSU Application Workshop-October 19th & October 30th from 8 AM - 3:30 PM

·         Seniors and parents, Yearbook wants to remind you that the price of a senior ad is going up tomorrow. Be sure to lock in the cheapest price by getting your order form into the finance center or Jarocki's room, 603, by today. You can reserve a spot in the yearbook with a $75 deposit. Online ordering is also available at jostens.com.

·         The Fresno State Ambassador will be on campus every other Thursday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM starting September 6th.  If you need help or have questions about your CSU applications, special programs, or just general questions about the CSU system, sign up with Ms. Reynolds in Student Services to make an appointment.

·         Don't miss this opportunity to ignite your curiosity! 5th-12th grade students and their parents/guardians are invited! Join industry professionals for conversations about their professions, training needed, and education requirements. This event will take place Monday, October 15th from 6:00-7:30 PM in the Redwood Cafeteria. It will begin with introductions, followed by multiple career industry panel sessions of your choice. The panels will consist of 3-4 professionals in each career such as; health sciences, culinary, education and many more. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

·         Attention Parents - The Tulare County District Attorney Office will be hosting a special parent night on Tuesday, October 16th, from 6-7 PM in the La Joya Middle School GYM.  The Tulare County District Attorney's office will share information about "The Dangers of Social Media" and its impacts on our students.  This is a great opportunity to learn how to identify the dangers and how it affects students in our community and what is being done to prevent, protect and prosecute.  Be advised that the information presented has strong content and is not advised for students in grade 6 or less.  Free childcare will be provided in our Library, light refreshments will be provided, and the presentation will occur in English and in Spanish.  Please plan to join us for this informative presentation!

·         HEROS AROUND ME is this year's theme for the PTA REFLECTIONS ART CONTEST! Enter by October 29, 2018, by turning in your artwork to the main office. Find official rules and entry forms at capta.org/reflections<http://capta.org/reflections>. Categories for artists: dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, visual arts. There is also a Special Artist Division for all students with special needs to compete in all the categories.
