·         Miner Emporium:  Come by the Miner Emporium (student store) and check out the new gear. We have beanies, bucket hats, hoodies and t-shirts with our new logo. Get them while supplies last.

·         The Marines will be on campus on Mondays in the quad area, the Army will be on campus on Tuesdays in front of the Career Center, the Navy will be on campus on Wednesdays in front of the Career Center, and the National Guard will be on campus on Thursdays in the quad area, to answer any questions you may have.

STUDENT NOTES

New Announcements:

·         ATTENTION SENIORS:  It's almost time for the senior panoramic photo.  Mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 7th during homeroom. Report to your homeroom class first!  Your teacher will escort you to the Gym for the picture. No props, signs, hand gestures, etc.  Please be careful not to block anyone's face from the pictures.  T-shirt designs must adhere to VUSD dress code guidelines.  Anyone not willing to follow these guidelines and those of the photographer and administration will be asked to leave and will not be in the picture.   Thanks in advance for your cooperation!

·         Girls Soccer tryouts all week, 10/29-11/2. Meeting on the north end of the soccer/football fields by 3:40.

  Old Announcements:

·         Girls Basketball tryouts will be October 29th-October 31st from 3:45-5:45pm at the La Joya Middle School Gymnasium. You will need to attend tryouts to be considered for a team.

·         Boys' basketball tryouts are from October 29th-November 1st in the EDHS Gym. See Coach Guzman in room 309 for times and any questions.

·         All Girls Water Polo: Mandatory 15-minute meeting after school--Wednesday 10/31, @ the pool. Bring all bags and parkas to check back in. We will go over off-season training, including info on Winter water polo. See you on the pool deck!

·         Students interested in taking the ASVAB test; it will take place tomorrow, October 31st at 8:00 AM in the EDHS Library. This test measures a young adult's strengths, weaknesses, and potential for future success. This is for grades 10-12 only. Please sign-up in Student Services.

·         Students: CSU Fullerton will have a representative here on campus to talk about their President's Scholar Program during homeroom this Friday, November 2nd. Sign-up in Student Services.

·         Attention Miners: Fall Sports Awards are Monday, November 5th at 6:00pm in the EDHS Gym! Come on out and support our student athletes as we put a close to Fall 2018.

·         Students and parents who have questions regarding how transferable college coursework affects the class ranking system on their transcript, are invited to come during lunch to discuss their individual situation on Thursday, November 15 at 12:30pm in the Career Center.

·         Students if you need to request a DMV Pink Slip, please go to Mrs. Springer's room 318 with your transcript. You can put in a request to get your Pink Slip before school, during homeroom, and during lunch. Please allow 2 school days for processing before picking it up. We will no longer issue Pink Slips in the Student Services office.

SENIOR NOTES

·         Scholarship Workshop:  Seniors-Ms. Bitney is hosting an ongoing scholarship workshop on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school in room 605 from 3:30 to 4:30.  This is a great resource for assistance and information about scholarships, so make sure to go by and see her.

·         Seniors: COS will be here next Monday, November 5th for another application workshop if you missed the first one. This will take place during periods 1-4 that day. Sign up in Student Services.
