*         Miner Emporium:  Come by the Miner Emporium (student store) and check out the new gear. We have beanies, bucket hats, hoodies and t-shirts with our new logo. Get them while supplies last.

*         The Marines will be on campus on Mondays, the Army will be on campus on Tuesdays, and the National Guard will be on campus Thursday's in the quad area during lunch to answer any questions you may have. If you are interested in the Navy or the Air Force, please stop by Student Services so we can set up an appointment for you.

*         Attention Sophomores and Juniors: If you are interested in joining Link Crew for the 2019-2020 school year, please come to an informational meeting with Mr. Fox today, April 3rd after school in the library at 3:30 PM. This meeting will only last about 10 minutes.

New Announcements:

*         The April PTSA meeting will be held on Monday, April 8th at 5:30 PM in the Library.  All parents, students and teachers are welcome. Our new Executive Board for 2019-2020 will be elected, Principal Hohne and the ASB leadership will speak on what's going on at El Diamante and of course, refreshments and a door prize! Hope to see you there.

*         Have you ever wanted to play golf? We are always looking for more players on the Girls Golf Team. All players are welcome, no experience necessary. We can provide golf clubs, golf balls, and everything else. Looks great on college and scholarship applications. Have fun and make great relationships with your teammates. Please stop by Mr. Abbott's class in room 366 anytime for more information. And don't forget about our Girls Golf meeting DURING LUNCH on Tuesday, April 9th in room 366.

Old Announcements:

*         Online Summer School: Sign-up sheets are now available in the Student Services Office for online summer school. The classes available are World History, US History and Civics/Econ. Students must have at least a 3.0 overall GPA to be eligible to take online summer school. Sign-ups are on a first come, first served basis and are limited to 30 students per course.

*         Last Chance to Sign Up for This Summer's Europe Trip - The deadline is tomorrow, April 4th for the Two Week tour of Paris, Barcelona, Florence and Rome. If you are interested in this trip of a lifetime, see Mr. Sheaff in Room 302 for more info.

*         EDHS Drama's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream opens Friday, April 5th with a 7 PM show. Performances run through Saturday April 6th. Tickets are on sale on the school website, available for pickup at will call. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults.

*         We will be having our Spring Sports Rally this Friday, April 5th. Please see the schedule below:

*         Attention Junior and Senior students: It's that time of year again! The ANNUAL ENCHANTED EVENING PROM DRESS event will be taking place on Saturday, April 13th at the Wyndham Hotel Back Entrance (Formally known as the Visalia Holiday Inn) at 6:00 AM. You must sign up in the Student Services Office by Friday, April 5th, 2019.

*         Do you have students interested in pursuing a career in Fashion Merchandising & Design? Would you like to learn more about the COS Fashion Program? Come meet our Fashion Instructors and our Fashion Students! Come Tour our Fashion Lab and see what we have to offer you! COS Visalia Campus Tule Building Room 503. We invite students and parents to join us! COS Fashion Open House Tuesday, April 9th from 6-8 PM! If you have any questions, please contact Tiffany Wainwright at mailto:Tiffanyw at cos.edu.

*         Want to play a sport next year???? Sports Physicals will be held @ El Diamante on Wednesday, May 1st, 2019. Pick up packet from the Nurse or Discipline office. Turn in $2.00 fee with completed packet by April 26th to the Nurse. NO LATE SIGNUPS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

*         Attention Students: Headgear is not allowed. This includes hats, caps, bandanas, sweatbands, hairnets, head bands, do-rags, and beanies. This dress code will be enforced and you will be asked to remove with possible confiscation and parent pick up.

*         Students if you need to request a DMV Pink Slip, please go to Mrs. Springer's room 318 with your transcript and pink slip request form. You can put in a request to get your Pink Slip before school, during homeroom, and during lunch. Please allow 2-3 school days for processing before picking it up. We will no longer issue Pink Slips in the Student Services office.

SENIOR NOTES

*         Attention Graduating Seniors: EL DIAMANTE CLASS OF 2019 FINAL TRANSCRIPT REQUESTS must be made using the online Google form found on the El Diamante website under Student Services/Transcript Request https://www.vusd.org/Page/16520  Once you have accepted the college/university you will be attending Fall 2019, please fill out the request form. You must include the COMPLETE MAILING ADDRESS for the college/university you will be attending.  Final transcripts will be mailed out the week of June 17, 2019 after grades have posted.

*         Attention Seniors! If you are interested in auditioning to be the Graduation Speaker at the El Diamante High School Graduation Ceremony on June 4th, please sign up in the Student Services Office by Tuesday, April 23rd and pick up the information sheet detailing the speech criteria. You must submit a copy of your speech by April 25th to Mrs. Vang. Auditions will be at lunch and/or after school in the Career Center on Tuesday, April 30th. See Mrs. Vang if you have questions.

*         Attention Seniors!! If you are interested in auditioning for the musical performance at the El Diamante High School Graduation Ceremony on June 4th, please sign up in Student Services Office before Wednesday, April 17th. Auditions will be on Wednesday, May 1st at lunch and/or after school in room #702. If you sign up to audition, you must submit your song choice and lyrics to Mrs. Vang by Friday, April 19th.

*         Grad Nite is Friday, May 17th.  Students will depart El Diamante High School at 12:30 PM. There will be a Senior Reflections Assembly and Senior BBQ prior to students departing to Universal Studios. More information will be provided as the date approaches. All Seniors are still expected to attend 2nd period. Seniors who are not attending Grad Nite will be required to still attend 6th period after lunch. Please contact Mrs. Vang in the student services office for questions or concerns (735-3504). Visalia Unified School District dress code applies. Please join us for VUSD's College Planning Night on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from 6-8 PM at the Visalia Unified Board Room. We will have admissions representatives from the CSU and UC systems, financial aid representatives, and tips on how to write college essays and gather letters of recommendation.
