*         Miner Emporium:  Come by the Miner Emporium (student store) and check out the new gear. We have beanies, bucket hats, hoodies and t-shirts with our new logo. Get them while supplies last.

*         The Marines will be on campus on Mondays, the Army will be on campus on Tuesdays, and the National Guard will be on campus Thursday's in the quad area during lunch to answer any questions you may have. If you are interested in the Navy or the Air Force, please stop by Student Services so we can set up an appointment for you.

Today:

*         Attention Miners-TODAY at lunch will be the fourth round of the Buff Ball Volleyball Tournament. Games will be at lunch in the gym. The Championship Team will play a Challenge Game against staff on Friday April 12th at lunch in the gym. Come out and watch your friends and favorite staff compete. Questions see Mrs. McBride in room 601.

*         As a reminder, Spring Break is from April 15th - April 22nd. School will resume on Tuesday, April 23rd.

*         When we return from spring break, we will be celebrating the Week of the Arts. Each day at lunch, we will have events and activities showcasing the talented students in the VAPA department.

Old Announcements:

*         There is still time to recycle your shoes for a good cause! PTSA is continuing the Shoe Drive Fundraiser until the last week of April. We would like to challenge every student to bring in a pair of gently used shoes this month. Our goal is 2500 pairs of shoes. So far, we have 600. Thank you for your support!

*         Want to play a sport next year???? Sports Physicals will be held @ El Diamante on Wednesday, May 1st, 2019. Pick up packet from the Nurse or Discipline office. Turn in $2.00 fee with completed packet by April 26th to the Nurse. NO LATE SIGNUPS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

*         Online Summer School: Sign-up sheets are now available in the Student Services Office for online summer school. The classes available are World History, US History and Civics/Econ. Students must have at least a 3.0 overall GPA to be eligible to take online summer school. Sign-ups are on a first come, first served basis and are limited to 30 students per course.

*         Attention Students: Headgear is not allowed. This includes hats, caps, bandanas, sweatbands, hairnets, head bands, do-rags, and beanies. This dress code will be enforced and you will be asked to remove with possible confiscation and parent pick up.

*         Students if you need to request a DMV Pink Slip, please go to Mrs. Springer's room 318 with your transcript and pink slip request form. You can put in a request to get your Pink Slip before school, during homeroom, and during lunch. Please allow 2-3 school days for processing before picking it up. We will no longer issue Pink Slips in the Student Services office.

SENIOR NOTES

*         Attention Graduating Seniors: EL DIAMANTE CLASS OF 2019 FINAL TRANSCRIPT REQUESTS must be made using the online Google form found on the El Diamante website under Student Services/Transcript Request: https://www.vusd.org/Page/16520.  Once you have accepted the college/university you will be attending Fall 2019, please fill out the request form. You must include the COMPLETE MAILING ADDRESS for the college/university you will be attending. Final transcripts will be mailed out the week of June 17, 2019 after grades have posted.

*         Attention Seniors! If you are interested in auditioning to be the Graduation Speaker at the El Diamante High School Graduation Ceremony on June 4th, please sign up in the Student Services Office by Tuesday, April 23rd and pick up the information sheet detailing the speech criteria. You must submit a copy of your speech by April 25th to Mrs. Vang. Auditions will be at lunch and/or after school in the Career Center on Tuesday, April 30th. See Mrs. Vang if you have questions.

*         Grad Nite is Friday, May 17th.  Students will depart El Diamante High School at 12:30 PM. There will be a Senior Reflections Assembly and Senior BBQ prior to students departing to Universal Studios. More information will be provided as the date approaches. All Seniors are still expected to attend 2nd period. Seniors who are not attending Grad Nite will be required to still attend 6th period after lunch. Please contact Mrs. Vang in the student services office for questions or concerns (735-3504). Visalia Unified School District dress code applies.
