STUDENT NOTES

New Announcements:

*         Attention all boys interested in playing basketball. The first practice will be on Thursday 8/29 at 4:30 in the gym. Players will need to complete their physicals and Family ID.

*         Our annual Back to School Night event will be held on Monday, August 26th at 6 P.M.  We will start in the gym and proceed to 1st period by 6:20 with 10 minute rotation per period. Jostens will also be on hand to answer questions regarding class rings and jackets. Tacos Galacticos and Rita's Ice Cream will be on campus with food available for purchase. There will be a Powerschool Parent Portal Workshop starting promptly at 5:30 P.M. in the library.

*         EDHS Musical 2020 is High School Musical 2! Audition workshops will be held in the Choir Room, during Homeroom, on Sept 11 (all grade levels) and Sept 12 (Grades 10-12). Mr. Toon and Mr. Witt will be present to answer questions about the audition process, as well as work on the audition songs.

*         Auditions for EDHS Musical 2020 will be held in the Choir Room on Sept 17 & 18 beginning at 5pm. Auditions are open to the entire campus, so everyone is invited to come out and audition!

Old Announcements:

*         Attention Freshman!!! Got Ideas? Want to make a difference? You can if you get involved with student government.  Class of 2023 elections will be held August 30th. You can pick up election packets in Student Services 8/16 through 8/22 they will be due to Student Services on August 23 by 3:30pm.

*         Hey Miners!  Let's Catch a Wave at the Ripcurl Icebreaker on Friday, August 23 from 5:30 to 8 at the pool.  Admission is free and there will be games, duct tape boat race, music, spike ball tourney and a special gift for the first 75 kids through the gate.  The snack bar will be open to purchase pizza, drinks, and snacks.

*         Club Rush is Friday, August 23 at lunch.  You will have the opportunity to meet current club members and to signup for clubs that interest you.  If you have any questions, see Mrs. McBride in room 601.

*         School pictures are scheduled for Wednesday, August 21st and Thursday, August 22nd. Pictures will take place in PE classes for all 9th grade and in English classes for 10th-11th grade. Picture packets will be disbursed by the student's PE or English teacher. The picture packets are also available in Student Services. Please be aware that VUSD dress code applies and students cannot wear anything with a logo except for Miner gear. Students will be turned away if they are out of dress code. Senior students will not need to take portraits because they take their pictures with Essence. If you haven't scheduled your Senior portrait session, please do so by calling 559-799-1256 or 559-741-1257.

*         Attention Juniors and Seniors! If you are interested in being a SCICON Counselor for the 2019-2020 school year, please sign up in the Student Services office for training.
