*         Miner Emporium:  Come by the Miner Emporium (student store) and check out the new gear. We have beanies, bucket hats, hoodies and t-shirts with our new logo. Get them while supplies last.

*         The Marines will be on campus on Mondays, the Army will be on campus on Tuesdays, and the National Guard will be on campus Thursday's in the quad area during lunch to answer any questions you may have. If you are interested in the Navy or the Air Force, please stop by Student Services so we can set up an appointment for you.

Today:

*         Seniors and parents of seniors, if you want to order a senior ad, you need to do so by today, February 28th. After today, you won't get an ad in the yearbook. All materials and payments need to be turned in today. Come to the finance center or Jarocki's room, 603, or go to Jostens.com for more info.

New Announcements:



*         If you are interested in campus culture, student government and school spirit then ASB/Leadership is the class for you. There will be an informational meeting on Monday, March 4th during lunch in room 601. We will discuss the application process for ASB. Applications will be available at that time.

*         Seniors: Please check with the library to make sure all fines are clear for GradNite by 2 PM tomorrow, March 1st. If you have a fine or books marked lost please resolve these issues by 2 PM tomorrow afternoon. Thank you, Library Staff.

Old Announcements:

*         Spring Fling is Saturday, March 2nd at Redwood High School Gym from 8-11 PM! Dance Tickets are on sale until lunch is over tomorrow, March 1st in the Finance Office. Tickets prices are: $10 w/ASB sticker, $20 w/out ASB sticker, and $40 at the door. Guest passes are no longer being accepted. In addition, you must present a current valid school I.D. at the door to be admitted to the dance! No exceptions! Appropriate dancing and behavior is expected! *         Are you looking for a way to get involved at El Diamante? Do you have a heart for helping other people? Please join us for an informational meeting about the newest club on campus-The Altruistic Club. Our first meeting will be held Monday March 4th at lunch in Ms. Upton's Room #615. Please grab your lunch and join us!

*         El Diamante will be hosting Future Miner Night on Monday, March 11th at 6:00 PM in the El Diamante Gym. We will have information on Registration, Linked Learning Academies, Electives, Co-Curricular Opportunities, Athletics and more. There will also be a campus tour. *         Immediately following the Future Miner Night presentation, El Diamante will be hosting an Open House. This will be an opportunity for parents and students to visit high school classrooms, speak with teachers regarding high school programs and curriculum, tour the campus and ask any clarifying questions you may have.

*         Save the shoes! The PTSA and ASB are having a Shoe Drive Fundraiser.  We welcome you to go through your closets or hit the clearance racks at the store and bring in gently used or new shoes or boots.  We will turn them in for cash. The shoes are then sent on to be refurbished and given to people in need! Our goal is to have 2500 pairs of shoes by March 15th.<x-apple-data-detectors://39> You can drop them off in the office, or save them for the classroom competition in February. Winning class gets a donut/pizza party!

*         Students: There will be a College & Career Expo on Friday, March 29th from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM at College of the Sequoias. The College and Career EXPO provides students the opportunity to compete in college and career oriented competitions, spend some time on a college campus, and be recognized for achievements in their chosen field of study. Transportation to this event will be provided. Please sign up in Student Services.

*         The new IntraDistrict transfer forms are now available in the registration office. If you plan on attending another High School for the 2019-2020 school year, you must submit one of these forms. The 1st Lottery deadline is on February 9th. The 2nd lottery deadline is on April 15th.  You must have an approved IntraDistrict transfer to attend a High School that is not in your home boundary line.

*         Attention Students: Headgear is not allowed. This includes hats, caps, bandanas, sweatbands, hairnets, head bands, do-rags, and beanies. This dress code will be enforced and you will be asked to remove with possible confiscation and parent pick up.

*         Students if you need to request a DMV Pink Slip, please go to Mrs. Springer's room 318 with your transcript. You can put in a request to get your Pink Slip before school, during homeroom, and during lunch. Please allow 2-3 school days for processing before picking it up. We will no longer issue Pink Slips in the Student Services office.

SENIOR NOTES




*         Seniors: The deadline for the FAFSA is this Saturday, March 2nd.  If you haven't completed the application yet and you would like financial aid for college, get to it ASAP. Go to fafsa.ed.gov. Also, you do not need to submit the Cal Grant GPA verification form-the district submits that information for you. You just need to get the FAFSA done, so get to it!

*         Seniors: Grad Nite is Friday, May 17th. The cost for Grad Nite is $160, CASH ONLY (includes ticket, lunch prior to departing and transportation cost); tickets will go on sale at 7:30 AM Monday, March 4th - this is the ONLY time you can purchase tickets. You will need to line up to purchase your tickets with the people you want to be on the same bus with. You must present your permission packet to purchase your ticket, students cannot buy for another student. There will be NO BUS CHANGES after you purchase your ticket. Students are not permitted on campus until 7:00 AM - "camping out" is not allowed. In order to purchase your tickets to Grad Nite, you MUST be on track to graduate and make sure to clear all fines through the Finance office and the Library. You will not be admitted to purchase tickets for Grad Nite without a completed Grad Nite Permission packet which includes your parent signatures and signatures from the library and finance office- NO EXCEPTIONS. All students MUST have their IDs present to purchase their Grad Nite ticket. Extra copies of the permission packet are available on the website and in the Student Services Office. Please see Mrs. Vang if you have questions or concerns.

*         Seniors: If you completed the EDHS local scholarship application; the Miner Foundation Scholarship application is now available to you in Student Services. There will be 20 scholarships at $500 each given to qualified senior students. The applications are due by March 15th, 2019.

*         Seniors: Cap and Gowns will be delivered to seniors who have placed an order on March 21st during homeroom. If you have not ordered your cap and gown please contact Jostens as soon as possible. Students must check into their homeroom classes before heading into the gym to pick up their cap and gowns. You must have your student ID card with you to pick up for items. See your Learning Director if you have questions.

*         Scholarship applications are now available for the El Diamante PTSA scholarship.  Seniors that have been members of PTSA for 30 days or more are eligible! The deadline for the scholarship application is March 29th, 2019.

*         Seniors: If you are interested in attending SJVC after graduation please stop by Student Services and sign up to speak with a SJVC representative.

*         Seniors: If you missed your chance to speak with the COS reps about scheduling a counseling appointment, it is now on you. Call 730-3715 to schedule an appointment to meet with a COS counselor.

Proceeds from the evening will go to back to clubs/ teams and also a portion will go towards Miner Foundation that is used for scholarships and campus-wide projects.
