*         Miner Emporium:  Come by the Miner Emporium (student store) and check out the new gear. We have beanies, bucket hats, hoodies and t-shirts with our new logo. Get them while supplies last.

*         The Marines will be on campus on Mondays, the Army will be on campus on Tuesdays, and the National Guard will be on campus Thursday's in the quad area during lunch to answer any questions you may have. If you are interested in the Navy or the Air Force, please stop by Student Services so we can set up an appointment for you.

Today:

*         AVID Tutor Applications for the 2019-2020 school year are available in Student Services and on the EDHS website. There will no longer be Academic Tutor or Teacher Aide course selections for the 2019-2020 school year. The deadline to turn in your AVID tutor application is today, March 22nd by 4 PM to Student Services.

*         Voting for 2019-2020 ASB Officers will begin at 10 AM and end at 1:30 PM. You may cast your vote at eldiamante.voting4schools.com<http://eldiamante.voting4schools.com>.

*         FOR THE LOVE OF ART - Do you know a high school student artist looking to make $ on their art? Let them know Visalia Education Foundation (VEF) can help them sell their art...it's easy and fun! Check out VEF's website for information on their upcoming art show and sale, For the Love of Art! http://www.visaliaedfoundation.org<http://www.visaliaedfoundation.org/>.The deadline for submission has been extended to Friday, March 29th.

Old Announcements:

*         Attention sophomores and juniors: Interested in developing your leadership skills and learning about public policy? Then apply to the Chicano Latino Youth Leadership Project by visiting this link: clylp.org<mailto:clylp.org>. You could spend one week at Sac State University for the Sacramento Leadership Conference, or 3 days in Fresno for the San Joaquin Valley Institute. The deadline to apply is April 15th. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity we will have a presentation on Tuesday, March 26th during Homeroom.  Sign-up in Student Services if interested in attending the presentation.

*         In Motion Dance Team Tryouts for the 2019/2020 will be held March 27th & 28th at 5 PM in the EDHS dance room. Stop by Student Services or visit Miss Skadan to grab a tryout packet/get more info!

*         Cheer Tryouts will be held April 8th-11th in the EDHS Gym 4-6 PM. Cheer packets are available in Student Services- packets must be turned in by 3/29 in order to try out for the squad- no exceptions. See Miss Skadan for further details.

*         Students: There will be a College & Career Expo on Friday, March 29th from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM at College of the Sequoias. The College and Career EXPO provides students the opportunity to compete in college and career oriented competitions, spend some time on a college campus, and be recognized for achievements in their chosen field of study. Transportation to this event will be provided. Please sign up in Student Services.

*         Attention Junior and Senior students: It's that time of year again! The ANNUAL ENCHANTED EVENING PROM DRESS event will be taking place on Saturday, April 13th at the Wyndham Hotel Back Entrance (Formally known as the Visalia Holiday Inn) at 6:00 AM. You must sign up in the Student Services Office by Friday, April 5th, 2019.

*         The new IntraDistrict transfer forms are now available in the registration office. If you plan on attending another High School for the 2019-2020 school year, you must submit one of these forms. The 2nd lottery deadline is on April 15th.  You must have an approved IntraDistrict transfer to attend a High School that is not in your home boundary line.

*         Attention Students: Headgear is not allowed. This includes hats, caps, bandanas, sweatbands, hairnets, head bands, do-rags, and beanies. This dress code will be enforced and you will be asked to remove with possible confiscation and parent pick up.

*         Students if you need to request a DMV Pink Slip, please go to Mrs. Springer's room 318 with your transcript and pink slip request form. You can put in a request to get your Pink Slip before school, during homeroom, and during lunch. Please allow 2-3 school days for processing before picking it up. We will no longer issue Pink Slips in the Student Services office.

SENIOR NOTES




*         Scholarship applications are now available for the El Diamante PTSA scholarship.  Seniors that have been members of PTSA for 30 days or more are eligible! The deadline for the scholarship application is March 29th, 2019. *         Attention Seniors! If you are interested in auditioning to be the Graduation Speaker at the El Diamante High School Graduation Ceremony on June 4th, please sign up in the Student Services Office by Tuesday, April 23rd and pick up the information sheet detailing the speech criteria. You must submit a copy of your speech by April 25th to Mrs. Vang. Auditions will be at lunch and/or after school in the Career Center on Tuesday, April 30th. See Mrs. Vang if you have questions.

*         Attention Seniors!! If you are interested in auditioning for the musical performance at the El Diamante High School Graduation Ceremony on June 4th, please sign up in Student Services Office before Wednesday, April 17th. Auditions will be on Wednesday, May 1st at lunch and/or after school in room #702. If you sign up to audition, you must submit your song choice and lyrics to Mrs. Vang by Friday, April 19th.

*         Grad Nite is Friday, May 17th.  Students will depart El Diamante High School at 12:30 PM. There will be a Senior Reflections Assembly and Senior BBQ prior to students departing to Universal Studios. More information will be provided as the date approaches. All Seniors are still expected to attend 2nd period. Seniors who are not attending Grad Nite will be required to still attend 6th period after lunch. Please contact Mrs. Vang in the student services office for questions or concerns (735-3504). Visalia Unified School District dress code applies. Please join us for VUSD's College Planning Night on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from 6-8 PM at the Visalia Unified Board Room. We will have admissions representatives from the CSU and UC systems, financial aid representatives, and tips on how to write college essays and gather letters of recommendation.
