New Announcements:


·         8th Grade Preview Day is this Friday, February 21st. We will have visitors on our campus from 9-11 AM.


·         If you are interested in campus culture, student government and school spirit then Student Government/Leadership is the class for you. There will be an informational meeting tomorrow, February 20th during lunch in room 601. We will discuss the application process for ASB. Applications will be available at that time.


Old Announcements:


·         Winter Sports Awards will be held on Monday, February 24th in the GYM at 6:00 PM. Please come out and support El Diamante Winter Athletes.



·         FOR THE LOVE OF ART! - Are you or do you know a high school student artist looking to make $ on their art?  Visalia Education Foundation (VEF) can students sell their art...it's easy and fun!  Check out VEF's website for information on their upcoming art show and sale, For the Love of Art at http://www.visaliaedfoundation.org/. The deadline for submission is next Thursday, February 27th, but it's not too early to start thinking about what you'll create!



·         Beanies will be allowed during the colder months until next Friday, February 28th, 2020 and must be of a solid color or contain the school logo.  All approved headgear must not cover the face and shall be worn as intended to provide protection outdoors only and may not be worn indoors.  The school or district is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged headgear.



·         2020 Aloha Spring Fling is Saturday, March 7th in the El Diamante High School Gym from 8 - 11 PM!  If your date to the dance is NOT a VUSD student, you must have an approved guest pass in order for your guest to attend the dance. Guest passes may be picked up in the Student Services Office and must be turned back in to Mrs. Calvero no later than Wednesday, March 4th by 3:30 PM in order to get it approved (NO LATE GUEST PASSES WILL BE APPROVED!). Remember you must be clear of all fines in order to be eligible. Dance Tickets go on sale starting Monday, March 2nd until lunch is over on Friday, March 6th in the Finance Office. Tickets prices are: $10 w/ASB sticker, $20 w/out ASB sticker, and $40 at the door. In addition, you must present a current valid school ID at the door to be admitted to the dance! No exceptions! If you do not have a current ID, please stop by the Finance Office at lunch or after school to purchase one. Appropriate dancing and behavior is expected! Hope to see you there!


·         El Diamante School Marquee messages available to purchase for $50 a week.  Say Happy Birthday or Congratulations to your student.  See the office for details.



·         Students if you need a DMV Pink Slip, please go to Student Services to put in a pink slip request. You can put in a request to get your Pink Slip before school, during lunch and after school. Please allow 1-2 school days for processing before picking it up.


SENIOR NOTES



·         The El Diamante PTSA scholarship is available in the Student Services office. It is due Tuesday, March 31st. In order to be eligible for this scholarship you must become a PTSA member by February 29th if you are not already. ·         SENIORS: Grad Nite ticket sales will be here before you know it. Come to the library and check your library/textbook account NOW to verify you are clear. Any student with an outstanding fine will not be able to purchase a ticket for Grad Nite. Turn in those overdue library books, English novels and semester textbooks (Econ & Civics) ASAP.



·         Seniors: Grad Nite is Friday, May 15th, 2020. The destination will be Disneyland and CA Adventures Park. The cost for Grad Nite is $245, CASH ONLY; tickets will go on sale at 7:30 Am on Monday, March 9th, 2020 - this is the ONLY day you can purchase tickets. The ticket is non-refundable! You will need to line up to purchase your tickets with the people you want to be on the same bus with.  There will be NO BUS CHANGES after you purchase your ticket.  Students are not permitted on campus until 7:00 AM - "camping out" is not allowed.  In order to purchase your tickets to Grad Nite, you MUST be on track to graduate, be on track with a 94% attendance rate the week prior to Grad Nite and make sure to clear all fines through the Finance office and the Library.  You will not be admitted to purchase tickets for Grad Nite without a completed Grad Nite Permission packet which includes your parent signatures and signatures from the library and finance office.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  Copies of the permission packet will be provide to seniors at the Senior Meeting in February. Afterwards, they will also be available on the EDHS website and in the Student Services Office.
