STUDENT NOTES


Today:


·         2020 Aloha Spring Fling is tomorrow, March 7th in the El Diamante High School Gym from 8 - 11 PM! Dance Tickets will be available for purchase until lunch is over TODAY, March 6th in the Finance Office. Ticket prices are: $10 w/ASB sticker, $20 w/out ASB sticker, and $40 at the door. In addition, you must present a current valid school ID at the door to be admitted to the dance! No exceptions! If you do not have a current ID; please stop by the Finance Office at lunch or after school to purchase one. Appropriate dancing and behavior is expected! Hope to see you there!



·         Attention Senior Miners!!! Mr. Miner applications are available in Student Services. You must have the application turned in by TODAY, March 6th by 3:30 PM. Miner Week will begin on March 16th and conclude on March 20th with an assembly and carnival.





·         Empowering Women club will have a table out at lunch today in the quad area!!  Please stop by and grab a sweet treat to celebrate Women's History month!


Old Announcements:



·         Spring boys' basketball begins Tuesday, March 10th at 6 PM for non-spring athletes. All potential players must have a physical and school clearance through nurse prior to participating.



·         In Motion Dance Team auditions will be held Wednesday, March 11th and Thursday, March 12th in the EDHS Dance room starting at 5 PM. Anybody who is interested in trying out can pick up an audition packet in student services or the dance room. Visit Miss Skadan for any questions you may have.



·         Attention Junior and Senior students: It's that time of year again! The ANNUAL ENCHANTED EVENING PROM DRESS event will be taking place on Saturday, March 28th at the Wyndham Hotel Back Entrance (Formally known as the Visalia Holiday Inn) at 6:00 AM. You must sign up in the Student Services Office by Tuesday, March 24th, 2019 in order to participate.



·         Students interested in trying out for next year's cheer teams; packets are available for pick up in the Student Services office. Please read packet details and contact EDHS cheer coach Tracy Beans for any further questions. Packets are due Monday, March 30th, 2020, no later than 4 PM. Late packets will NOT be accepted.


·         El Diamante School Marquee messages available to purchase for $50 a week.  Say Happy Birthday or Congratulations to your student.  See the office for details.



·         Students if you need a DMV Pink Slip, please go to Student Services to put in a pink slip request. You can put in a request to get your Pink Slip before school, during lunch and after school. Please allow 1-2 school days for processing before picking it up.



SENIOR NOTES



·         SENIORS: Grad Nite ticket sales are Monday, March 9th at 7:30 AM. Come to the library and check your library/textbook account NOW to verify you are clear. Any student with an outstanding fine will not be able to purchase a ticket for Grad Nite. Turn in those overdue library books, English novels and semester textbooks (Econ & Civics) ASAP.



·         Attention Seniors! If you are interested in auditioning for the musical performance at the El Diamante High School Graduation Ceremony on June 3rd, please sign up in the Student Services Office before Thursday, April 16th. Your lyrics will need to be submitted to Mrs. Vang before audition day. Auditions will be on Thursday, April 30th at lunch and/or after school in room #702. See Mrs. Vang if you have questions.



·         Attention Seniors! If you are interested in auditioning to be the Graduation Speaker at the El Diamante High School Graduation Ceremony on June 3rd, please sign up in the student services office by Thursday, April 2nd and pick up the guidelines detailing the speech criteria and rubric. You must submit a copy of your speech by Friday, April 17th to Mrs. Vang. Auditions will be at lunch and/or after school in the career center on Tuesday, April 21st. See Mrs. Vang if you have questions.



·         Seniors: Grad Nite is Friday, May 15th, 2020. The destination will be Disneyland and CA Adventure Park. The cost for Grad Nite is $245, CASH ONLY; tickets will go on sale at 7:30 AM on Monday, March 9th, 2020 - this is the ONLY day you can purchase tickets. The ticket is non-refundable! You will need to line up to purchase your tickets with the people you want to be on the same bus with.  There will be NO BUS CHANGES after you purchase your ticket.  Students are not permitted on campus until 7:00 AM - "camping out" is not allowed.  In order to purchase your tickets to Grad Nite, you MUST be on track to graduate, be on track with a 94% attendance rate the week prior to Grad Nite and make sure to clear all fines through the Finance office and the Library. You will not be admitted to purchase tickets for Grad Nite without a completed Grad Nite Permission packet which includes your parent signatures and signatures from the library and finance office.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  Copies of the permission packet are available in the Student Services Office.



·         Seniors, the deadline to apply for the $500 PTSA Scholarship is March 31st. Applications are in the Student Services office. If you are a PTSA member, you are eligible to apply!

·         Miner Foundation DIGGING FOR DIAMONDS Spring Dinner & Auction featuring live music by RUN 4 COVER - Saturday, March 14th, 2020 at 5:30 pm - at the Visalia Elks Lodge.  Proceeds of your donations go directly to funding scholarships, campus wide improvements, and club or team support.
