*         El Diamante Miners! Grades 9-11 Picture Day is scheduled for TODAY, April 8th and tomorrow, April 9th from 10 AM-6 PM. We highly encourage our In-Person Learners to re-schedule their appointment times to be during your off track (when you are not in class). This event will continue to be a drive thru event for our Distance Learners. Our Distance Learners, please enter through Crenshaw and exit on Whitendale. New Announcements:

*         Attention Seniors! If you are interested in auditioning to include your Graduation Speech in the Senior Reflections Assembly please sign up by clicking here<https://forms.gle/NBBjfUywn1yTZWth6> by April 13th. Please make sure to reference the rubric. You will be invited to attend an informational meeting on April 14th at 10 AM via Zoom with Mrs. Vang to discuss more details.

*         It is election time for ASB offices and Class offices. ASB members have the opportunity to promote school spirit, plan inclusive activities, and learn the importance of service. If you are interested in running for office or want to join ASB as an appointed Senator then you will need to complete and submit an application by April 16th at 3:30 PM. The application will be available on the Google classroom and Schoology groups. The application must be returned by the deadline in order to be considered.

*         Join us on Tuesday, April 20th at 6:00 PM for our Junior Parent Night Webinar. We have invited admission representatives from the CSU and UC systems to talk to you along with experts on FAFSA/Dream Act. To complete the evening, we will also fill you in on private colleges and everything needed to navigate the application season. *         ASVAB Test: Due to the pandemic and the campus being closed, we are NOT able to administer the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test on site. In order to still take the ASVAB test at the Visalia office location, you MUST:

     *   Be 17 years old and have parent permission

SENIOR NOTES

*         Attention Seniors: Cap and Gown distribution will be on Wednesday, April 28th from 1-3 PM.  This will be a drive-thru event. Students/Parents will enter on Crenshaw and exit on Akers. If you have not ordered your cap and gown, you still have time. You may place your order one of the following ways:

     *   Visit Jostens.com
     *   Call 1-800-JOSTENS
     *   Visit or mail in your order to the Visalia office at 1222 W. Murray Ave. Visalia, CA 93291

*         We are excited to announce the Class of 2021 Graduation will be held in-person for all of our graduates following social distance guidelines. Graduation is set for Thursday, June 3rd at 3:00 PM at the Mineral King Bowl.      *   It will be a walk-through event
     *   Guests will walk the stadium with their graduate
     *   Graduates will sign up for their preferred time slots from 4/6/21 - 4/16/21 at 6 PM
     *   After April 16th, if graduates did not sign up for a time slot, a time slot will be assigned to all remaining graduates
     *   Tickets will be provided to graduates prior to the June 3rd ceremony
     *   Please Note: A MAXIMUM of 10 guests per graduate and 2 cars are allowed in the Mineral King parking lot. Vehicles over 20 feet in length will NOT be permitted in the parking lot.

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

SPORTS

*         Attention Juniors and Seniors who are thinking of playing sports in College. You MUST register with the NCAA Eligibility Center to be eligible to participate. Students must be enrolled in a certain number of academic courses in High School to qualify at the college level. Qualifications vary based on the division in which your College participates in athletics. Speak with your Learning Director if you have any questions or concerns.

PARENT NOTES

*         The April PTSA meeting will be held on Monday, April 12th at 7:00 PM via Zoom. Principal Hohne will give an update on current news at El Diamante, and the ASB student leadership will also give a report. We will also be electing new officers for the 2021-22 school year, so if you are interested in being on the Board of the PTSA, come to the meeting or contact Dawn Vink!
