STUDENT NOTES

TODAY:

*         Attention Students: Math Peer Tutoring Sessions are available every Tuesday-Thursday. Come to the Career Center before the homeroom bell rings. Peer tutors can support you to achieve your math goals!

*         We now have weightlifting available in the after-school XL Program. We will be weightlifting from 3:30-4:30 PM after school on Tuesday's and Thursday's. If you would like to learn how to weightlift, or would like to utilize our equipment in the weight room, please join Mrs. Panuco (Miss Emerson) after school on the designated days!

*         Social Justice & Action will be meeting TODAY, November 18th at Lunch in Room 359. Learning more about Indigenous American culture while enjoying pumpkin pie and hot cocoa.

*         Monday, November 15th through Friday, November 19th there will be a donation drive sponsored by the AVID Club for the Visalia Rescue Mission. Bring items such as socks, travel size products, feminine hygiene products, pasta, sugar, coffee, and canned foods. Donations bins will be located by the attendance office and in Room 605. Help give this giving season!

OLD ANNOUNCEMENTS:

*         The next Ablaze Catholic Club meeting will be Friday, November 19th at lunch in Room 605. Join us for a guest speaker and pizza!

*         Hey Class of 2023! Come find out what is going on with the Junior class and how you can get involved! Plus get some treats on Friday, November 19th at Lunch in Room 913. See you there!

*         NO SCHOOL 11/22-11/26 due to Thanksgiving Break. School will resume on Monday, November 29th.

*         Ready to save a life? The El Diamante High School blood drive is on Thursday, December 2nd at the Visalia Donor center on Caldwell. They will have a special T-shirt and other giveaways for parents and students who donate. As a student donor you need to be at least 16 years of age with parent permission, 110 lbs., and in good health. You will need an ID with their school number on the ID or a California ID or drivers license. Each pint of blood we collect can help save up to three lives and will touch the lives of so many more. What a great way to pay it forward, make an impact on people in our community, and show those patients in need of blood just how much we can do.

*         Attention Students: Please remember to bring your fully charged Chromebook to school with you every day.

*         Visalia Unified School District's After-hours Academic Assistance (AAA) will provide after-hours academic support through a virtual platform. This program is available to all VUSD students grades K-12 at no charge, four evenings a week. Homework assistance will be led by certificated VUSD teachers in all grades and mostly all subjects. The AAA program helps students with homework from content previously covered in class. *         Attention Students: During Lunch, Save Mart will be randomly checking bags/backpacks and may request to see your receipt at any time.

*         Work Permits are processed in the El Diamante Student Services Office. *         CVC will be hosting a Christian College Fair. Attend Virtually from Monday, November 1st through Friday, November 19th. There will be Financial Aid resources available. *         Attention Seniors: Students are also encouraged to come hear from college advisor, Marisa Zepeda who has worked with MIT, Yale, and UC Berkeley admissions to learn more about the differences between public and private universities. She will be providing an overview of the private school application components and discussing the impacts of COVID-19 on the application process. Unlike most of our webinars, this event will not be recorded so in order to take advantage of this resource, students are highly encouraged to attend the event live. *         For all athletes who would like to participate in Track & Field this year we are having voluntary workouts for those who want to get in shape and ahead early. If you have any questions contact Coach Holley at 559-805-1332. Practice will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00-5:00 PM. Coach Holley will be on campus every Thursday at Lunch in the Dance Room if you have questions or want to chat. Our current practice schedule will be as follows:
