TODAY:

*         Wear Purple on TODAY, October 21st to support Anti-Bullying of the LGBTQ+ Community.

*         Attention Students: Math Peer Tutoring Sessions are available every Tuesday-Thursday, starting October 19th. Come to the Career Center before the homeroom bell rings. Peer tutors can support you to achieve your math goals!

*         We now have weightlifting available in the after-school XL Program. We will be weightlifting from 3:30-4:30 PM after school on Tuesday's and Thursday's. If you would like to learn how to weightlift, or would like to utilize our equipment in the weight room, please join Mrs. Panuco (Miss Emerson) after school on the designated days!

NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS:

*         Boys Basketball Tryouts will be held on October 25th, 26th, and 27th from 6-8 PM in the GYM. Please make sure your physicals and all paperwork are submitted before tryouts. Any questions, please visit Coach Guzman in room 309.

*         Undocumented? Not sure of your Status? A Dreamer? XL will be hosting a work shop on Tuesday, November 9th @ 4 PM via Zoom. This workshop is a FAFSA workshop for undocumented students to receive help in applying for the CADAA (CA Dream Act Application) for College of the Sequoias. Dieddra Atondo Academic Coach/ grant Lead will for College of the Sequoias will be leading the Zoom Meeting. *         The ASVAB Exam Sign-ups are now open! The ASVAB is a multiple-choice test used to determine qualification for enlistment in the United States Armed Forces and is given once a year on the El Diamante campus. To take the exam; students must be in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade. The ASVAB Exam will be administered on Wednesday, October 27th, 2021 in the Library from 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM. You will receive a pass the morning of the exam to report the Library. This exam will be first come, first serve by sign-ups, until we reach 49 students maximum.

*         Social, Justice, and Action Club will meet on Wednesday, October 27th at Lunch in Mrs. Garcia's room 359. Add our REMIND @sja359 for more information. Join us to discuss topics of Hispanic Heritage month. We will be making bracelets in honor and appreciation of Hispanic Heritage month. *         Beginning October 18th, Visalia Unified School District's After-hours Academic Assistance (AAA) will provide after-hours academic support through a virtual platform. This program is available to all VUSD students grades K-12 at no charge, four evenings a week. Homework assistance will be led by certificated VUSD teachers in all grades and mostly all subjects. The AAA program helps students with homework from content previously covered in class.
