TODAY:

*         Attention Miners: March 28th -April 1st EDHS is celebrating the Visual and Performing Artists on our campus. Each day will offer an activity where you can participate or experience the variety of artistic expression there is at El Diamante. Wednesday at lunch you can learn line dancing in the GYM and on Thursday in the Theater at lunch you can view some of the videos produced by the award-winning Media Arts Academy.  On Friday we will have a special assembly schedule that will feature performances from our Visual and Performing Arts students.

*         Attention Miners: XL conditioning for Football will take place every week Monday-Thursday at the green turf by the weight room.

*         We now have weightlifting available in the after-school XL Program. We will be weightlifting from 3:30-4:30 PM after school on Tuesday's and Thursday's. If you would like to learn how to weightlift, or would like to utilize our equipment in the weight room, please join Mrs. Panuco (Miss Emerson) after school on the designated days!

NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS:

*         "Game On" Spring Fling Dance tickets are officially on sale. The dance will be on Saturday, April 2nd from 8-11 PM at Mt. Whitney High. All eligible VUSD students can attend. All guests who are not VUSD students must have a signed guest pass at the time of ticket purchase. Guest Passes are due to Mrs. Calvero in the Discipline Office by the end of the day Wednesday, March 30th. You can purchase tickets in room 601 before school, at lunch and after school until 3:30 PM. Tickets are $10 with ASB card, $20 without ASB card, and $40 at the door. IMPORTANT: You must have your student ID card to purchase a ticket and to enter the dance.

*         Attention Students: Walgreens has established an exciting annual arts competition for high school teens in selected US cities - Expressions challenges you to create art that reflects your world and the issues you connect with:  Social Justice, Mental Health, Unity, Equity and more. You can express yourself in video, painting, short stories, poetry -  whatever moves you! The contest begins January 15th and runs through March 31st. Entries are reviewed by judges around the country. There are cash prizes and more for the winners. *         Attention Juniors: A representative from Fresno Pacific University will be on campus for an informational in-person presentation on Wednesday, April 6th in the EDHS Library. Discover what's possible at Fresno Pacific University! Attend this informational meeting to learn more about their distinctive majors such as nursing, education, and software engineering. You'll also get to learn how 100% of their students are offered an institutional scholarship, learn about their athletics program, and how to prepare for the application process this upcoming fall. *         Attention Junior and Senior students: Need help with the cost of a Prom Dress? The ANNUAL ENCHANTED EVENING PROM DRESS EVENT IS OFFICIALLY BACK! All dresses are free at this event. 1000+ dresses, sizes 0-30. Every girl receives a dress and 1 accessory (Purse or Jewelry). Some "Minor" alterations can be made at site. This event will be taking place on Saturday, April 9th at the Wyndham Hotel Back Entrance (Formally known as the Visalia Holiday Inn) from 6:00 AM until 1:00 PM. You MUST sign up in the Student Services Office by Thursday, April 7th, 2022 in order to attend this event.

*         Do you want that last push to the AP Euro or APUSH Exam finish line? Come to AP Workshop Review Sessions led by Mrs. Nauman. There are TWO different sessions. See information on the sign-up Google form. The first review is on April 23rd and will be an AP Exam Simulation with a full test and grading. The second review on April 30th will be a writing workshop and will focus on tips and tricks for getting a good grade on the writing section of the exam. *         Attention Students: You're invited to apply for the High School Experience Program Conference at the Reagan Ranch June 22nd-25th, 2022 located in beautiful Santa Barbara, California. Students will be selected for the scholarship program based on assessment of documents needed to apply (application & essay). Application and Essay must be submitted by email in PDF format or scan. Essay requested should be no more than one page long and typed in English. Application & Essay must be received on or before April 29th, 2022. *         Attention Students: Please remember to bring your fully charged Chromebook to school with you every day.

*         Visalia Unified School District's After-hours Academic Assistance (AAA) will provide after-hours academic support through a virtual platform. This program is available to all VUSD students grades K-12 at no charge, four evenings a week. Homework assistance will be led by certificated VUSD teachers in all grades and mostly all subjects. The AAA program helps students with homework from content previously covered in class.
