Intro:
Good Morning Green Acres!

Red Ribbon Week is next week, Chargers!

Each day of the week has a different theme and each day also has a dress up idea that goes with the theme. Monday is red day in honor of it kicking off Red Ribbon Week.

You will receive a flyer in your first period class on Friday which details what each day the week is. Earn HEART points and show your school spirit all next week!

Fall Dance:

Our fall dance will be taking place on Friday, October 27. Dance tickets will be on sale Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in the morning and at lunch. The tickets will cost $5 each.

If you wait till the last minute and buy your ticket on Thursday or Friday of next week then the tickets will cost $7. We want all of our students to buy their tickets Monday Tuesday

or Wednesday for the cheaper price of $5. Leadership's goal is to have a better count of how many people are attending the dance so we know how many snacks and drinks and stuff

to buy so we don't run out. So buy your tickets next week on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday for $5. It's time to party at the Fiesta!

Sports:
Tryouts for basketball, soccer, and wrestling will begin on Monday, November 6th after school from 3:30pm-5:00pm. You must have a registration form set up on Family ID. Please
see Mr. Freitas if you have any questions.

CJSF:
CJSF club is hosting a Book Drive starting Monday, October 9th to Friday October 27th. We are collecting both new and gently used children and teen books. We are doing this as part
of our community service act to benefit families in need. Our goal is to have each student and staff member donate at least one book each. Heart points will be given for the donation.
CJSF members will be outside the Murphy Center every morning before school starts to collect your donations. Help us show our community that Chargers have HEART!

Redwood:
Students who are younger than high school and without a parent or guardian will NOT be permitted to attend a VUSD high school event.  All students younger than high school
MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times when attending a VUSD high school event.

Students:
Missing item reward offered if found and returned for a medium sterling silver band ring with opal stones in it please see Mrs. DeLaCruz.

Yearbook:
8th grade Parents Yearbook is now accepting student recognition ads.  Currently ¼ page ad is $60 and 1/8 page ad is $45. Ads are a great way to celebrate student success
and reflect on the person your student has become. Go to Jostens.com/yearbooks to create your recognition ad today! Last day to submit an ad is 12/9/2017.

Rules to follow:
Students:  School staff will check for dress code every day throughout the day.  DO NOT wear inappropriate clothing.  When in doubt about an item, see an administrator.

Charger Café:
Reimburse Meals are available to All Students at Green Acres M/S during Breakfast & Lunch!
Students, please ask your parents/guardian to put money on your account online-www.MySchoolBucks.com

Some cafeteria tips for faster service:
a.        Memorize your student ID number and say your Full name for Breakfast and at Lunch-DO NOT SHARE IT!!
b.        Students-Please have your Money out of your backpacks, Wallets and Be Prepared with what you would like to order in the Ala Carte' Line.
c.        When you finish eating, clean up your trash and place plastic bottles & aluminum cans in green recycling containers.
d.        Students will be dismissed by tables when their trash and table are completely clean.
e.        No food will be allowed in the picnic area or anywhere on the main campus.
f.         Express line at the Murphy Center is only for combos, hot food and sandwiches. No a 'la cart!
