Please come to the attendance office during lunch and after school to pick them up. Military Appreciation Week is October 2-6 at Golden West High School. The Army, Navy, Air force and Marines will be present on campus all week. We will have lunch time activities Monday-Thursday and a ceremony at the game Friday Night! PTA will meet on October 2nd @ 6 pm in room B-1. Monday, October 2nd is College Logo Day. Wear College gear and remember CSU applications open October 2nd! ATTENTION ALL PARENTS AND STUDENTS: Students are not allowed to walk through the Visalia Adult School Parking Lot or Campus. Parents please do not pick up students at the Visalia Adult School. US Academy Night: Academy Night is approaching. Academy night will provide students and parents with information on the appointment and nomination process for those students interested in attending a United States Service academy (Air Force, Merchant Marine, Army, or Naval academies). The event is hosted by Congressman Devin Nunes, and will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the Clovis Unified School District Professional Development Building (1680 David E. Cook Way, Clovis, CA). To RSVP please complete and return the RSVP form, which is located in the GWHS Counseling Office, Presentation Binder, by October 13th, 2017. Seniors: The Comcast Scholarship Application is now open. Students must email Ms. Waters (counselor) in order to gain access to the application, which will be completed online via a Google Classroom format. Applicants must meet the following criteria: minimum 2.8 GPA, demonstrate leadership abilities in school activities or through work experiences, strong commitment to and involvement in community service, and plan to attend an accredited college. One GWHS student will be selected for this $1,000 scholarship. The application includes (1) Demographic information, (2) activity record, and (3) one-page essay. The deadline to submit the application is 10/20/17 at 3:30 PM. Late applications will NOT be accepted. If you have any additional question please see Ms. Waters in the Counseling Office.
