Seniors

Seniors-If you are planning on attending college in the fall please sign-up for your final transcript to be sent to your college of choice. See the Registrar-Mrs. Hall in the counseling center for request forms.

Grad Nite tickets have already been ordered and paid for.  Please be mindful that this trip is a privilege. If you lose your privilege of going on this trip, you will not be refunded your money.

Seniors you have 3 chances to improve your attendance to WALK AT GRADUATION.
Students you have 3 chances to get the academic support you need.
Teachers you have 3 chances to provide the extra support your students need.
Show up at 8am in the cafeteria - don't be late.
Remaining dates: May 5, May 12, May 19. Prom is on May 12th - you can attend both. There is plenty of time.

Reminder, checks will no longer be accepted starting May 1st.

LOST & FOUND or DRESS CODE ITEMS:  Please come by the main office to identify your belongings as soon as possible.  Items not picked up by the end of the school year will be donated to Goodwill.

Advanced Drama auditions are here! Interested in being in the school One-Acts in the fall or being a part of the Advanced Drama program? If you are interested in auditioning please prepare a Shakespeare monologue and sign-up for an audition time slot at lunch or after school. Auditions start Monday May 7th and will continue through Friday May 11th. If you need audition materials or have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact Mr. Anders, randers at vusd.org<mailto:randers at vusd.org>.

GW Color Guard auditions are here! The final audition will be held on Thursday, May 3rd from 6-8:30pm. All workshops and auditions will be in the band room (M5). Please visit Mr. McFarlane in room M5 if you have any questions.

Congratulations to the Golden West Trailblazer Concert Choir and Chamber Singers on their outstanding performances at the International World Strides Heritage Competition this last Friday. Both choirs took the SILVER AWARD in their divisions and each choir placed 3rd in each of their respective 3A High School categories. I am very proud of them and their outstanding work this year.

Athletics
Boys Cross Country: There will be a short meeting for all boys interested in running cross country next year on Tuesday May 8th during lunch in P-5 across from the cafeteria -Mr. Robles.


Girls Cross Country: Meeting on May 10th in room FS-1 during lunch.

It's time for Sports Physicals!  If you plan to participate in sports next year come to the nurse or the office for your Sports Physical Packet!  Sports physicals will be offered at GW on May 17th for $2.00. The paperwork and $2.00 MUST be turned into the school nurse no later than May 11th  to participate.

Wrestling Banquet: Please come join us at the Sasaki household to celebrate, receive awards, and eat some delicious food. May 5th at 3pm. 37811 Millwood Dr., Woodlake. Please RSVP with Mrs. Morse (559) 280-2238.

Older Announcements

Attention Juniors and Seniors:  THE JUNIOR/SENIOR PROM "Una Bella Notte a Venezia" (A Beautiful Night in Venice) is Saturday, May 12 from 8 - 11 PM at the Visalia Convention Center!  Tickets will be on sale starting May 7. Prices are $25 single ticket with ASB; $35 single ticket w/o ASB; $45 single ticket at the door.  Sales are in the finance office before school, during lunch, and after school. You Must have your Student I.D. to purchase your ticket also a dance agreement if you have not turned one in this school year.   If your date to the PROM is not currently a Junior or Senior you must have an approved guest pass for them to purchase a ticket.  Also, if your date is not a VUSD student you must have an approved guest pass in order for your guest to attend the dance.  Guest passes may be picked up in the Finance Office and must be turned back in to Mr. Cobarruvias by Wednesday, May 9 by 4:00 pm in order to get it approved.  Remember that you must be clear of all obligations in order to be eligible to purchase a ticket.
Registration is now open for the 4th annual Visalia River Run 5k and 10k! Go to active.com<http://active.com> and search Visalia River Run or get a paper registration form from any band or orchestra student. All registration includes a race t-shirt, finisher's medal, race bib with timing chip, race pictures, and snacks and water. All proceeds go to the GW Band and Orchestra.
Clubs:
Blazer Buddies Club: We meet every Wednesday during lunch in P-4. New members are welcome!

GSA Club: GSA club meets every Thursday during lunch in A-9. New members always welcome!

XL Program:

XL has Afterschool Intervention available every Wednesday and Thursday in E-10 from 3:30-4PM for students who have detention that needs to be served.
