Reminder, as of May 1st, checks are no longer being accepted.

Registration is now open for the 4th annual Visalia River Run 5k and 10k! Go to active.com<http://active.com> and search Visalia River Run or get a paper registration form from any band or orchestra student. All registration includes a race t-shirt, finisher's medal, race bib with timing chip, race pictures, and snacks and water. All proceeds go to the GW Band and Orchestra.

It's time for Sports Physicals! Only 2 days left to get in on this amazing deal!  The paperwork and $2.00 MUST be turned into the school nurse no later than May 11th  to participate. If you plan to participate in sports next year come to the nurse or the office for your Sports Physical Packet!  Sports physicals will be offered at GW on May 17th for $2.00.

Seniors

Seniors-If you are planning on attending college in the fall please sign-up for your final transcript to be sent to your college of choice. See the Registrar-Mrs. Hall in the counseling center for request forms.
Grad Nite tickets have already been ordered and paid for.  Please be mindful that this trip is a privilege. If you lose your privilege of going on this trip, you will not be refunded your money.

Seniors you have 2 chances to improve your attendance to WALK AT GRADUATION.
Students you have 2 chances to get the academic support you need.
Teachers you have 2 chances to provide the extra support your students need.
Show up at 8am in the cafeteria - don't be late.
Remaining dates: May 12th and May 19th. Prom is on May 12th - you can attend both. There is plenty of time.

New Announcements

ATTENTION JUNIORS SIGNED UP FOR AP GOVERNMENT NEXT YEAR:  Meeting on TUESDAY, MAY 22 at Lunch in FS-4.  Important information will be discussed including getting an early start on the research paper.  If you have any questions, see Mr. Gluckmann.

Chamber Singer Auditions are Wednesday, May 16 & Thursday, May 17 - beginning after school. Both days required. Audition packets and grade checks are available beginning Wednesday, May 9 from Mr. Raheb in M1.

LOST & FOUND or DRESS CODE ITEMS:  Please come by the main office to identify your belongings as soon as possible.  Items not picked up by the end of the school year will be donated to Goodwill.

Advanced Drama auditions are here! Interested in being in the school One-Acts in the fall or being a part of the Advanced Drama program? If you are interested in auditioning please prepare a Shakespeare monologue and sign-up for an audition time slot at lunch or after school. Auditions started Monday May 7th and will continue through Friday May 11th. If you need audition materials or have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact Mr. Anders, randers at vusd.org<mailto:randers at vusd.org>.

Attention Juniors and Seniors:  THE JUNIOR/SENIOR PROM "Una Bella Notte a Venezia" (A Beautiful Night in Venice) is Saturday, May 12 from 8 - 11 PM at the Visalia Convention Center!  Tickets will be on sale starting May 7. Prices are $25 single ticket with ASB; $35 single ticket w/o ASB; $45 single ticket at the door.  Sales are in the finance office before school, during lunch, and after school. You Must have your Student I.D. to purchase your ticket also a dance agreement if you have not turned one in this school year.   If your date to the PROM is not currently a Junior or Senior you must have an approved guest pass for them to purchase a ticket.  Also, if your date is not a VUSD student you must have an approved guest pass in order for your guest to attend the dance.  Guest passes may be picked up in the Finance Office and must be turned back in to Mr. Cobarruvias by Wednesday, May 9 by 4:00 pm in order to get it approved.  Remember that you must be clear of all obligations in order to be eligible to purchase a ticket.
Clubs:
Blazer Buddies Club: We meet every Wednesday during lunch in P-4. New members are   welcome!

GSA Club: GSA club meets every Thursday during lunch in A-9. New members always welcome!

XL Program:

XL has Afterschool Intervention available every Wednesday and Thursday in E-10 from 3:30-4PM for students who have detention that needs to be served.
