STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

*       Dress Code Reminder
As the weather gets warmer, here is a reminder about the Dress Code.  The Visalia Unified School District Student Conduct Code for grades 7-12 reads as follows:  Clothes shall be worn as intended and be sufficient to conceal undergarments which shall be worn and covered at all times.  See-through or fish-net fabrics, halter tops, tube tops, spaghetti straps, off-the shoulder and low-cut tops are not acceptable.  Other types of dress that expose bare midriffs or cleavage are prohibited.  Basketball jersey style tank tops with scooped front, back and armholes are only allowed if worn with a T-shirt with sleeves.  Shirts with cut-off sleeves are not allowed.
*       RTI
RTI this week will be today instead of Thursday.  Passes will still go out during 2nd period.  We will have RTI on Fridays for the remainder of the year.

*       Kindness
Thank you to all that have participated in being kind. We are going to leave the signs up to remind you to keep being kind. We are in the home stretch, and we want to end this year on a positive note, so show PRIDE by being kind. Today we will have a kindness box at lunch. You can write your act of kindness and put it in the kindness box. We will post the kindness acts next week.

*       ASB Elections 2017-18
Attention 7th grade students.  Are you interested in running for President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Athletic Commissioner, or Activities Commissioner for the 2017-2018 school year?  Well get ready, because applications will be available in the Pathfinder Office starting Monday May 1st.  Applications are due Wednesday May 11th.  All applicants must have a 3.0 grade point average, good attendance, good citizenship and have no discipline/incidents records, no referrals, and no detentions.
*       EDHS Band
All students planning to be a part of the Marching Miners at El Diamante next year should plan to attend the Miner Picnic on Saturday, May 27th, from 9AM-2PM at EDHS. Visit www.edhsbands.com for more information.

*       State Testing Raffle
Congratulations to yesterday's State Testing Raffle winners.  The winner for the state testing raffle is Mason Pena for 7th and Jadyn Woltring for 8th grade.  Please come to the front office after school to pick up your reward.  We will be doing drawings everyday during testing and will have a few big drawings at the end of testing.  Show your PRIDE and be here everyday doing your best for testing to receive a raffle ticket.


*       2017-2018 WEB Leaders
Attention Prospective WEB Leaders for next year. Applications to be a WEB Leader are available now. If you are interested in being a WEB leader pick up an application in the Pathfinder or Magellan Pod, or the library. Applications are due Today, April 28th to Mr. Gridiron in Pathfinder Office. Late applications will not be accepted.
Sports ANNOUNCEMENTS

*       Monday 5/1
Baseball and Softball are at home vs. Green Acres, dismissal time is 3:10,  start time is 4:00pm.

*       Wednesday 5/3
Baseball and Softball are at home vs. Woodrow Wilson.  Dismissal time is 3:10,  start time is 4:00pm. This is also 8th grade day for baseball and softball. Come support your 8th graders as the play their last regular season home game for La Joya!
