Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

*Attention students, as a reminder to earn Fun Friday, as a school we must have 80 incidents or less for the month.  We currently have (8) incidents this month. Students must have good grades, good attendance and good behavior to be eligible to participate.  So let's make sure to show our La Joya PRIDE and help our school earn Fun Friday!  Our first Fun Friday of the year will be on September 8th!
*Do you like to play in the dirt?  Do you like to eat?  Come join the Garden Club every Wednesday after school beginning on September 6th! No need to sign up!  Just show up!
* Students - Reminder, when you are calling home from the Main Office phone at the Student Window or another school phone, please leave a detailed message for the person you are calling and explain why you are calling.  This is very important, as the person will call back and we are unable to help them.  Also, always check in at Student Window before entering the office door.  Thank you.

*Safety is important!!!  When both coming and leaving school, students need to walk on the sidewalks and in the cross walks only.  Please do not walk or ride in the parking lot or streets.  If                                             you are riding a skateboard, bike, or other device; please use caution and wear your helmet.  You will be cited by Visalia Police Department if you do not.
*There will be no school on Monday, September 4th in observance of Labor Day.
*Report cards will be sent home with students on Tuesday, September 5th.
*The "I need to see you" forms will be given to each teacher for their classrooms.  These forms are  to be completed by students wanting to see Mr. Gridiron, Mrs. Romero, Ms. Trujillo or    Mr. Ranieri.  They will be in each classroom accessible for students to fill out and leave in a designated area in the classroom.

*Yearbooks
If you are interested in purchasing a yearbook, the price is $40 until September 8th.  Hurry before the price goes up!


SPorTs ANNOUNCEMENTS
*Cross Country will hold their first practice today, so please come dressed and ready to run.  Practice will be from 3:20 to 4:30.   Thanks, Coach Hefner and Coach Beggs
*Students, are you up for a fun challenge?  Do you think you can best Mr. Gridiron in Basketball?  Intramurals will be starting next week, and the first 30 kids who sign-up on Wednesday or Thursday at lunch will have the opportunity to play Mr. Gridiron in a basketball half court shoot off!

Volleyball plays CVC at home, game time is 4:00pm
