Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS
*       Campus PRIDE
Please be sure to come inside the gates on campus when you arrive in the morning.  No students should be hanging around outside of the gates either in the morning or after school.  This can cause a safety issue.  Thank you for showing your LJ PRIDE by following the rules.
*       Open House
Open house will be on April 4th from 6-7:30 p.m.  Be sure to give your parents that flyer that was handed out during 7th period yesterday.
*       End of Grading Session
Attention Students - There are only 8 school days left before the end of grading session 5.  Please remember you need a 2.3 or higher in all of your academic classes in order to promote to the next grade.  Take the time to meet with your teachers to make up any missing or low scoring assignments.
*       Garden Club
Garden Club will meet today after school.
*       Pizza Sales
Choir will be selling pizza Wednesday. $2 per slice $1 for a water
*       RTI
Sign up for RTI Enrichment by Wednesday, March 29th at break
*       El Diamante Dance Team
Attention 8th grade students, if you are interested in taking dance next year at El Diamante, and want to be placed in a class higher than Introduction to Dance, you will need to attend one workshop as well as auditions next week.  Workshops were held  yesterday and the last one is today March 29th from 3:45 - 5:15pm.  You are required to attend one workshop in order to audition on Thursday, March 30th starting at 6:00pm. Dance packets can be picked up at a workshop, the main offices of El Diamante High School and La Joya Middle School as well as the Pathfinder office.   Dance packets are due at time of audition.  Students need to wear solid color dance attire, tan or black jazz shoes, and hair secured out of the face.  Students who are interested in Introduction to Dance may sign up with their counselor - no audition necessary.  Students will be placed in one of the following classes - Introduction to Dance, Intermediate, Advanced or Performance (In Motion Dance Team).
*       Make a Wish
Do you wish upon a star,  break a wishbone, or throw a coin into a fountain to make a wish? Well, you won't need to do any of those; This week ASB Leadership is taking wishes at lunch. At our next rally, ASB officers will pull some names out of the "Make a Wish" box and grant those wishes to the lucky winners. So come by at lunch and make a wish.
*       PE Lost and Found
Students please check the PE lost and found bin during your class period for any missing clothing items. Our bins are full and at the end of the week we will be bagging up any clothing, which are not PE clothes and sending in for donation.

PRIDE Fun Friday
Our next Fun Friday will be on Friday, March 31st.  Remember to show your LJ PRIDE by keeping your grades above a 2.3 in all of your class, be on time to class, show PRIDE by not getting any referrals, and have no unexcused absences.

*       EDHS Girl's Water Polo
Anyone 8th grade student who is interested in joining the El Diamante Girl's Water Polo team please pick up a flyer from the girl's locker room.  Summer session starts June 5th, any question please contact Coach young at ryoung at vusd.org

Sports ANNOUNCEMENTS

*       Sports
Wednesday 3/29
Baseball and Softball are in Hanford to take on Woodrow Wilson.  Dismissal time is 2:00,  start time is 3:30pm.
**Baseball games will be held at JFK
**Softball will be held at Woodrow Wilson

*       Sports
Thursday 3/30
Track has the Green Acres Invitational, which is held at the Mineral King Bowl.  Dismissal time is 2:45, start time is 4:30.
