Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

*La Joya Explorers, do you like to play sports, create arts and crafts projects, conduct science experiments, and have lunch with your friends? Do you need additional help with language arts or math or need to get credit for an absence? Then join Saturday University, Saturday, September 23rd from 8:15-12:30. Sign-up through the La Joya website under "Saturday University" by using your smart phone or Chromebook or you can visit Magellan or Pathfinder for a sign up form.

* Attention students - Interested in joining our school LEGO Robotics competition team?  Pick up an interest form in Room 203 or the Main Office.  Then, join us for a meeting with our coaches on Thursday, 9/21, at 6:30 pm in Room 203.  Bring your parents, too!  No previous experience is required, although it helps.

* It's time for a dance right!!!  Tonight from 3:30-5:00, be ready  to SHOW YOUR GLOW! The first dance will be a neon dance. Tickets will be on sale at lunch today for $5. There will be fun activities like Glow Bowling, Glow Pong, Ring toss, photo booth, face painting, Henna Art. Glow items will be for sale as well. There will also be tasty snacks like Jamba Juice, Ice Cream, Nachos, and PTSA snack shack. Don't be left out, buy your ticket today!!  Don't forget to dress in neon today and for teachers to please give a PRIDE ticket for those showing spirit.

*Please support our fall school-wide fundraiser in selling Gift Check Books.  Sale will run through Thursday 9-21-17.  The TOP selling 1st period class in both 7th and 8th grade will win a donut party! Top three sellers in both 7th and 8th grade will get to SPIN THE MONEY WHEEL! For a chance to win money!  Fundraiser money supports student activities such as school dances, end of the year celebration, 8th grade Adventure Park, fun end of the year school activities, and much more.   So sell, sell, sell!!!!
*Athletics is selling pizza today, $2 a slice and $1 for a water.


*SPorTs ANNOUNCEMENTS

Saturday 9/16:

7th and 8th grade Volleyball is at the Buchanan Tournament.

7th Grade is in the East Gym and game times are as follows:   8:45 vs. Reyburn;  9:45 vs. Clay;  10:45 vs. Granite and the 4th game is TBA.

8th Grade is in the West Gym and game times are as follows: 8:15 vs. Granite;    9:45 vs. St. Anthonys;  10:15 vs. ASI and the 4th games is TBA


Monday 9/18

Volleyball is at Divisadero, start time is 4:00pm, release from class at 2:45.
