STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS


* Today is the last day to sign up for tomorrow's Saturday University. Have a friend sign up with you and receive 10 Pride Tickets for attending. Students who attend will also be entered in a drawing for a Starbucks gift card. Go to the La Joya website to sign up today!

* Athletics Fundraiser
Athletics is having a fundraiser tomorrow at the Applebee's on Akers from 8:00am to 10:00am.   With the purchase of a $10 ticket, you will get eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon and a drink!  Half of the money made on Saturday comes back to the athletic program.  Tickets can be purchased from Mr. Henderson today, or tomorrow morning at the restaurant.  Give the family chef the morning off and bring everyone to Applebee's!

* Wondering what to get your friends, or that special someone for Valentine's Day?...Well, AVID has made it easy for you. We will be selling candygrams starting Monday Feb. 5th through Friday Feb. 9th  at the OUTSTANDING PRICE OF 2 for a DOLLAR. You heard right, 2 for a dollar. They will be delivered Wed. the 14th of course. Show people care by sending them a Candy Gram!!


Sports news


The Varsity Girls Soccer team defeated Woodrow Wilson 3-0. Goalkeeper Mya Rodriguez recorded 4 saves. Goal Keeper Payton Diaz recorded 2 saves. Nadia Garcia, Nikki Licon & Bella Flores each scored a goal.

JV Girls Soccer defeated Woodrow Wilson 4-0.  Jaydyn Villarreal , Lynea Rivera ,  Bella Cabrera  and Celeste Quinones  all scored.

The Varsity Boys Soccer team defeated Woodrow Wilson 7-0.  Coach Kareem scored 3 goals, Connor Caviglia scored 2 and Evan Walker and Luiz Daiz each scored 1.

The Lajoya Varsity Basketball Team defeated Woodrow Wilson, 45 - 37, on Wednesday. Offensive standouts were Nick Nelson (16 points); Michael Ramirez (9); Austin Watson (6); Chase Farmer (9), Isaac DeLeon and Michael Trinidad (3); Henry Vidak (2); and Preston Boswell (1).
