Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

*  If you are interested in the school spelling bee and need a list of the words, see your ELA teacher or Mrs. Allen in room 503.

* AVID is selling pizza this Friday, $2 a slice and $1 for a water.

* Garden Club has been cancelled for tomorrow.
* Reminder students - you are allowed to wear knit hats (sometimes called "beanies") during the months of December through March.  However, they should be of a solid color with no logo or visible lettering.  All approved headgear must not cover your face and should be worn as intended to provide protection outdoors only.  They may not be worn indoors (classrooms, cafeteria, etc.)  Please see any administrator if you have any questions.
* This year La Joya is joining El Diamanté to perform their winter musical Cinderella the first week we return from Winter Break. The show dates are January 11, 12, & 13 at 7pm and January 13 also at 2pm. Ticket prices are $10 for students and $12 for general admission. See Mr. Morris in room 301 if you have questions or need to get tickets.

SPORTS NEWS

Tuesday 1/9:

All Girls Basketball and Soccer is home vs. Woodrow Wilson, release soccer at 2:55.  Soccer starts at 3:30.  Basketball starts at 4:00.
All Boys Basketball and Soccer is at Woodrow Wilson,  release players at 2:15. Soccer and basketball start at 3:30.


Wednesday 1/10:

All Girls Basketball and Soccer is at Valley Oak, release players at 2:30.  Soccer starts at 3:30.  Basketball starts at 4:00.
All Boys Basketball and Soccer is home vs. Valley Oak, release soccer players at 2:55. Soccer starts at 3:30.  Basketball starts at 4:00.
