Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

*   RTI has been changed to tomorrow, Friday the 26th.
* Athletics is selling pizza tomorrow, $2 a slice and $1 for a water.

* Library News
Attention students.  In order to be able to come to the library at lunch you must get a pass from Miss Dill in the library before lunch.  There will be a limited number of passes available.  If you get a pass you must eat your lunch first and then show the pass to be excused to the library.  You must turn in the pass to Miss Dill.  Students that do not have a pass will be sent back to the cafeteria.  This is for both first and second lunches.  The library will be closed on Fridays at lunch for Reading Revolution teams to meet and train for the competition.

* There is still time to sign up for CJSF (California Junior Scholarship Federation).  Please come before or after school, and bring your report card and $1 to Mrs. Gibson in room 101 or Mrs. Allen in room 503!  Don't miss out on being a part of this prestigious society!!  Tomorrow is the last day to sign up for CJSF.

*Would you like to be in the La Joya School Play? If so, auditions will be next Tuesday & Wednesday (January 30 & 31) afterschool until 4pm. You only need to attend one of the audition days. If you would like to audition, come see Mr. Morris in Room 301 to get your monologue and set up an audition appointment. Don't let your fear of auditioning keep you from joining our school play! Go see Mr. Morris with any questions you may have!


*The rally has been changed to Tuesday, January 30th, and in case you forgot, 7th grade won more challenges than the 8th grade. Will 7th grade keep up their streak, or will 8th grade even the score. We will begin with our dress up day tomorrow for the rally. 8th grade will be doing a "White Out", so dress in White. 7th grade will be flooding the gym in "Green", so wear green. The grade with the most dressed out, wins the first competition. Remember 8th grade in White, 7th grade in Greeen.

*AVID will be visiting Fresno State Saturday February 17th and we would like to invite one 7th grader and one 8th grader to join us. We will be touring the campus, eating lunch in the dining hall, and watching Fresno State Men's Basketball VS. Colorado State. It will all be free!!!!   All you have to do is put your name in a drawing today at lunch. We will draw the names at Tuesday's rally. Good Luck!

* Attention students - Thursday, February 8th is the Academic Awards Night.  Letters will be going home soon to those students that have made Honor Roll with more information.  There is a list of all the Honor Roll students posted in each classroom.  If you think you should be on Honor Roll or High Honors, be sure your name is on the correct list or listed at all.  If it is not, please see Mrs. Sales in Pathfinder or Mrs. Romero in Magellan.



SPORTS NEWS

Thursday 1/25

Wrestling is at Woodrow Wilson, release time is 2:15, match starts at 4:00pm.

Friday 1/26

8th Grade Girls Basketball are at home for the La Joya Girls Basketball Tournament.  Release the players at 2:45, Game time is 3:30 vs. Valley Oak.
