Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!

STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

*As of Monday, November 26th, students may be able to select a new elective for the beginning of 2nd semester which starts on 1/14/19.  There are currently openings in Choir, Band, Orchestra, and 7th grade AVID.  Students interested in AVID are required to fill out an application.  Applications can be picked up in the main office.  If you are interested in changing your elective, please pick up a schedule change request form from any La Joya office.  Signed forms must be returned to the Main Office by Friday, December 7th.  Requests to change teachers or class periods will not be accepted.


*WIN Academy
Looking for something to do this Saturday. Come to WIN Academy. You can play board and computer games with Mr. Hefner, sign up with your team to work on your Turning Points in History project with Ms. Austerman, try Online Comic Strip Storyboarding with Mr. Saroca, get caught up in science with Mr. O'Brien, or get caught up in ELA with Ms. Moore. On top of that, attending helps you makeup an unexcused absence. If you signup by tomorrow you can have a lunch ordered for you. Sign up through the La Joya website, and encourage a friend to sign up too.

*Pizza Sales
ASB is selling pizza tomorrow, $2 a slice, $1 for a water.

*1st Semester Finals Schedule
Finals start the week of Dec. 17th - Monday is a Regular Late Start Schedule with no finals.  Tuesday is 0 period and 1st period Finals.  Students are out at the normal time of 3:13 p.m.  Wednesday is 2nd period and 5th period Finals.  Students out of school at 12:30 p.m.  Thursday is 3rd period and 6th period Finals.  Students out of school at 12:30 p.m.  Friday is 4th  period and 7th period Finals.  Students out at 12:30 p.m.  Please try to have all appointments scheduled outside these times.  Food served before school and at break only.

*Please do not ride skateboards or bikes on campus, before, during or after school.

*AVID students are selling Gold Canyon Candles until December 5th. All money raised will help students attend their college trip. Candles are 22 dollars and include tax and shipping. See an AVID student, Ms. Beggs or Mr. Cartagena to purchase.

*Minimum Day
Today is a Minimum Day, students are released at 1:30pm.

7th grade Girls soccer will practice today, from 1:40 pm- 3:30 pm.
Wrestling @ 5:30


Tuesday 12/4

ALL Winter Sports practice @ 3:30pm

Wrestling @ 5:30
