Sports ANNOUNCEMENTS Congratulations to the La Joya Track team who competed at the Ridgeview Invitational on Tuesday. Entries were limited and 7th and 8th graders competed in the same division. Here are some of the highlights from our top athletes. Abraham Maciel took 1st in 200 m and 1st in long jump. Our Boys 4 x 400 team took 1st place, runners were Jazper Malone, Albert Cano, David Medina and Andres Padilla. Our Girls 4x400 team took second place runners were Reyna and Reanna Soto, Madeline and Allison Alvarez. Felicity Alvarez took 2nd in the 200 m run. Albert Cano took 1st in the 400 m. Reanna Soto took 1st place in the 100 m. Our Boys 4x100 team took first runners were Albert Cano, Abraham Maciel, Keyajay Daniels, and Jazper Malone. Our Girls team were neck and neck at the finish finishing second. Runners were Tysi Martinez, Asiana Watson, Felicity Alvarado and Reanna Soto. Taylor Lucio took 2nd in hurdles and Tysi Martinez took 3rd. Carmen Gaebe took 1st in both the 800 m and the mile run. Isabella Saenz took 2nd in shot put and Saleen Mariscal took 3rd. Damien Jiminez took 2nd in the shot put. Mary Fumasi took 3rd in discus. Laila Fernandez took 1st in long jump and 2nd in high jump. Andres Padilla took 1st in discus throwing 140 feet and 10 inches. Special shout out to those with the top score in their respective Power Bowl teams: Gunnar Roth, Grace Cui, Quinton Cooper, Saleen Mariscal, and Hannah Blackmon. The Visalia Unified School District Student Conduct Code for grades 7-12 reads as follows: Clothes shall be worn as intended and be sufficient to conceal undergarments which shall be worn and covered at all times. See-through or fish-net fabrics, halter tops, tube tops, spaghetti straps, off-the shoulder and low-cut tops are not acceptable. Other types of dress that expose bare midriffs or cleavage are prohibited. Basketball jersey style tank tops with scooped front, back and armholes are only allowed if worn with a T-shirt with sleeves. Shirts with cut-off sleeves are not allowed. Hoodies, beanies, or any head gear may not be worn within the classroom. KJ Daniels took 1st in the 100 m and Abraham Maciel took 2nd. Reanna Soto took 1st in the 100 m and Asiane Watson took 2nd. Jazper Malone took 1st in the 200 m and Abraham Maciel took 2nd. Felicity Alvardo took 2nd in the 200 m. Albert Cano took 3rd in the 400m. Chance Ybarra took 2nd in the 800 m and Emmanuel SantaCruz took 3rd.
