STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

*Calling all spellers. If you would like to participate in the Tulare County Spelling Bee, come by and see Mrs. Allen in Room 503 to pick up a spelling list and find out more information about the spelling bee.

*La Joya Athletics is having their annual Winter Applebee's Flapjack Fundraiser event tomorrow, December 14th.   It will be held at the Applebee's on Akers from 8:00am-10:00am, and tickets are $10 each.  If you are interested, please contact Mr. Souza and he will send an athlete your way.  Come on out and enjoy a great breakfast served by our very own La Joya athletes!

*Band is selling pizza today, $2 a slice and $1 for a water.

*The selling of outside food, snacks, or drinks is not permitted/allowed on campus.

*1st Semester Finals Schedule
Finals start the week of Dec. 16th - Monday is a Regular Late Start Schedule with no finals.  Tuesday is 0 period and 1st period finals.  Students are out at the normal time of 3:13 p.m.  Wednesday is 2nd period and 5th period finals.  Students are out of school at 12:30 p.m.  Thursday is 3rd period and 6th period finals.  Students are out of school at 12:30 p.m.  Friday is 4th period and 7th period finals.  Students out at 12:30 p.m.  Please try to have all appointments scheduled outside these times.  Food served before school and at break only.

*Band Dinner/Concert
Tonight is the Band dinner and concert.  Come on out tonight and enjoy a great dinner and some awesome music!  Tickets are $5 each.


Sports ANNOUNCEMENTS

On Wednesday the Varsity Lady Basketball team put on a high energy performance as they routed JFK with a 46-23 win.
Reyna Soto led the way with 11pts, Naveah Creason 10pts, Kaitlin Ramos 9 points, Olivia Torres 8 points, Anabelle Navarro and Kalisa Holmes both had 4pts, and Jenevee Campos had 3pts.
The Lady Explorers played fierce defense and kept the pressure on all game, forcing many turnovers.  Destiny Martinez stepped in and picked up her first steal of the season and had made a nice assist.
The team has had a great start to the season and is looking to keep it going into next week when they face Divisidero at home on Monday.  Go Explorers!

Congratulations to Varsity Girls Soccer who beat JFK 9-0. Bella Villarreal scored 3 goals, Taylor Vandergriff and Keyana Speight each scored two. Morgan Phillipe and Alyviah Sanchez each had one goal. Jadyn Rivas had 3 assists, and Taylor Vandergriff had 2 assists. Morgan Phillippe, Kaitlyn Padilla, and Keyana Speight each had 1 assist. Great defense by Allison Alvarez. Alisha Vasquez had two saves in goal. Great job ladies.

La Joya Athletics Winter Applebee's Flapjack Fundraiser. This fundraiser is for breakfast at Applebee's (Akers) from 8:00am-10:00am.
Tickets are $10.00 apiece
