Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!


STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

*Open House
Open House will be on Thursday, April 4th, from 6 - 7:30 pm.  Students and parents are welcome to visit teachers in their classrooms - there is no set bell schedule.  We will also have some wonderful performances from our Orchestra, Choir, and Band groups.  Tacos Galacticos will also be selling tacos, churros, and drinks, courtesy of our La Joya PTSA, from 5 - 7:30 pm.  We hope to see you all there!

*Students, it's that time again.  Want to eat some delicious pizza while helping La Joya provide fun events at school?  We know you do.  Well then, join us with your family at Mountain Mike's Pizza on Walnut on Wednesday, April 3rd for our PBIS Mountain Mike's fundraiser.  For every sale, Mountain Mike's will donate 25% of that sale to La Joya to promote positive behavior on our campus.  That means more prizes at the PRIDE store and more activities at school that you will enjoy.  Be sure to show up with your flyer and have yourself a slice, or two, or three, you get it.  See you there!
*Athletics is selling pizza tomorrow, $2 a slice and $1 for a water.
*Dress Code Reminder
As the weather begins to warm, here is a reminder about the Dress Code.  The Visalia Unified School District Student Conduct Code for grades 7-12 reads as follows:  Clothes shall be worn as intended and be sufficient to conceal undergarments which shall be worn and covered at all times.  See-through or fish-net fabrics, halter tops, tube tops, spaghetti straps, off-the shoulder and low-cut tops are not acceptable.  Other types of dress that expose bare midriffs or cleavage are prohibited.  Basketball jersey style tank tops with scooped front, back and armholes are only allowed if worn with a T-shirt with sleeves.  Shirts with cut-off sleeves are not allowed. Hoodies, beanies, or any head gear may not be worn within the classroom.  Cell phones must be turned off and out of sight.

*Cheer Packets
Cheer Packets are now available at EDHS student services offices, and the La Joya front office. Packets are due March 29th at place of pick up.  You must complete a packet in order to try out for the EDHS 2019 - 2020 cheer squads.  No late packets will be accepted.

*EDHS Dance Auditions
There will be a workshop held on Wednesday, March 27th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at EDHS in the Dance Room.  The audition will be held on Thursday, March 28th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm in the EDHS Dance Room.  Student must attend workshop in order to learn material to audition for dance team.  Students must complete dance packet available in the EDHS Dance Room or EDHS Student Services.  Students need to wear active/dance attire, tan or black jazz shoes, and hair secured out of the face.
