STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

*Interested in joining color guard at El Diamante?  Come to our fall spin clinics and learn dance basics and how to spin! The first clinic will be Wednesday, May 8th at 3:30 in the                     El Diamante band room and they will continue every Wednesday after. See you there!
*Do you play drums, mallets, or other percussion instruments, or do you want to learn? Come to El Diamante's percussion clinics! The first one is on Thursday, May 9th from 4:30-6:30 in the El Diamante band room and they will continue every Thursday after. See you there!
*Congratulations to yesterday's State Testing Raffle winners.  The winners for the state testing raffle are Logan O'Brien for 7th and Anthony Ponce for 8th grade.   Please come to the front office after school to pick up your reward.  Show your PRIDE and be here every day doing your best for testing to receive a raffle ticket.

* ASB Officer Application Bulletin
7th graders- Are you interested in becoming an ASB Officer next year? Would you like to be the Activities Commissioner and run the rallies, or how about President or Vice President who do have many responsibilities including making sure the daily bulletin is read to the whole school? There are six available positions: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Activities Commissioner, and Athletic Commissioner. You must have good grades, satisfactory citizenship, and good attendance. If you would like more information about what it means to be an ASB Officer or how you can run for one of these positions- please pick up an ASB Application Packet in the Pathfinder Office, the Magellan Office, the main Office, or LM3. The applications must be returned no later than Thursday May 9th at 3pm in the Pathfinder Office. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Morris in LM3.

*Athletics is selling pizza today, $2 a slice and $1 for a water.

* Attention 7th graders. It's never too early to start preparing for college. Before you know it, you will be graduating HS. With graduation, you can either have a plan like going to college and landing your dream job, or being nervous about not knowing where your future will take you. AVID is a program that will prepare you for college and beyond. AVID will be accepting applications. The deadline is this Friday, May 10th.

*Looking for something to do this Saturday. Come to WIN Academy. You can play computer games with Mr. Saroca, play Sports with Ms. Beggs, or get caught up in ELA with Mrs. Allen.  On top of that, attending helps you make up an unexcused absence. Sign up online by Wednesday at 3:00, and you can have a lunch ordered for you. Sign up through the La Joya website, and encourage a friend to sign up too.


*Attention 7th Graders: Do you remember your 7th Grade Orientation and WEB Leader? Well if you enjoy helping others and are friendly and kind, apply to be a WEB Leader. You can pick up an application in the library or any office. Applications are due to Ms. Romero in the Pathfinder or Ms. Rourke in room 405 by the end of the day Friday May 10th.




Sports ANNOUNCEMENTS


Tuesday 5/07

Track awards will be Tuesday in the gym, 3:30-4:00 pm. If you have not turned in your uniform, please bring it washed on Tuesday.

No Athletics



Parent ANNOUNCEMENTS

The next PTSA meeting will be held on Monday, May 13th at 5:30 in the Library.
