Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!


STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

* Attention 7th graders. It's never too early to start preparing for college. Before you know it, you will be graduating HS. With graduation, you can either have a plan like going to college and landing your dream job, or being nervous about not knowing where your future will take you. AVID is a program that will prepare you for college and beyond. AVID will be accepting applications. The deadline is today, May 10th.

* Looking for something to do this Saturday. Come to WIN Academy.   You can play computer games with Mr. Saroca, play Sports with Ms. Beggs, or get caught up in ELA with Mrs. Allen. On top of that, attending helps you make up an unexcused absence. Sign up through the La Joya website, and encourage a friend to sign up too.

*Attention 7th Graders: Do you remember your 7th Grade Orientation and WEB Leader? Well if you enjoy helping others and are friendly and kind, apply to be a WEB Leader. You can pick up an application in the library or any office. Applications are due to Ms. Romero in the Pathfinder or Ms. Rourke in room 405 by the end of the day today, May 10th.

* Band is selling pizza today, $2 a slice and $1 for a water.

*Congratulations to yesterday's State Testing Raffle winners.  The winners for the state testing raffle are Viviana Huerta for 7th and Zuri Romo for 8th grade.   Please come to the front office after school to pick up your reward.  Show your PRIDE and be here every day doing your best for testing to receive a raffle ticket.

*This weekend the La Joya Drama Students will be performing their Spring Plays "This is Your Brain on Social Media" & "How to Succeed In High School Without Really Trying." If you want to learn a few ways to trick your teachers or if you want a good laugh then come see one of the shows. They will perform TONIGHT Friday May 10th at 7pm and TOMORROW Saturday May 11th at 2pm and 7pm at the El Diamante Theater. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in LM3 or in the front office.

*Reminder!  If you received a letter needing a third semester for CJSF to be an honor graduate you must turn it in by 3:30 today in room 101!  No exceptions!!


Parent ANNOUNCEMENTS

The next PTSA meeting will be held on Monday, May 13th at 5:30pm in the Library.
