Today is a One lunch/End of Year Carnival bell schedule

Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!


STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS


* 8th graders - don't forget to redeem your PRIDE tickets today at the PRIDE store.

*La Joya yearbooks have officially SOLD OUT! There is a possibility that we will have approximately 10-15 extra copies. If you are interested in being placed on the wait list for an extra copy please see Ms. Stringham in room 603 for details.

* The 8th grade dance is tonight, May 31st,  from 6-9 p.m. at Adventure Park.  All attractions are free with the exception of some video games and snack bar.  Appetizers and drinks will be provided.  This event is for eligible 8th grade La Joya students only.  All books must be returned or fines paid to the library. Dress code will be enforced.

* This is a reminder that finals begin on Monday, June 3rd.  Periods 0, 2, 4 and 6 will be on Monday, June 3rd.  Monday June 3rd is also the last day for 0 period.  Periods 1, 3 and 7 will be on Tuesday, June 4th.  Period 5 will be on Wednesday, June 5th.  Students will be released from school at 3:13p.m. on Monday, June 3rd and Tuesday, June 4th.  Students will be released at 12:30p.m. on Wednesday, June 5th, Thursday, June 6th and Friday June 7th.  Starting Wednesday, June 5th through Friday, June 7th food will only be served before school and at break.


*Attention students:
The End of the Year Activity Day is today, May 31st for all eligible students.   This day will consist of an Extended lunch with music from 11:40 - 12:35 p.m.  We will offer sales of food vendors from Tacos Galacticos, In & Out burgers, Jamba Juice and Kona Ice. The cafeteria is still available.  The Carnival Activities will be from 1:55-3:00.  Students will report back to 7th period and released at the usual time of 3:13pm.   At the carnival, we will offer sales of vendors as well.  We will have Carnival Games, Music, Bounce Houses, and many other Activities.  So, don't forget your money!   Dress code is still in effect.  Students must wear appropriate clothing.  If you have any questions, please see Mr. Mueller.  Thank you.


*8th Grade students
Please turn in your signed Check Out Form to your 1st period teacher immediately.  The form must be turned in with parent signature, in order for you to leave early on June 7th.


* Looking for something to do this Saturday. This is our last WIN Academy for the year. You can play games with Mr. Morris, play Sports with Mr. Hunt, watch a movie with Ms. Austerman, get caught up in math with Ms. Mederos, or get caught up in ELA with Mrs. Allen.  On top of that, attending helps you make up an unexcused absence. Sign up through the La Joya website, and encourage a friend to sign up too.

*If you are interested in attending one of the City of Visalia's - Public notice of Community Workshops for Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan, and the Housing Element Update please stop by the main office at La Joya for a flyer with more information.  Flyers will also be available in the Pathfinder and Magellan offices.
