STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS


*Hey La Joya Students and Staff! This week is Character Counts Week. Today is Retro Dress Up Day to represent Respect.  Dress code still applies.

* Looking for something to do this Saturday? Come to WIN Academy.   You can play Sports with Mr. Hunt, get caught up in a class with Ms. Mederos, or learn some history through movies with Ms. Austerman. On top of that, attending helps you make up an unexcused absence. Sign up<https://forms.gle/yhco7EXEZaLxjXWR7> through the La Joya website, and encourage a friend to sign up too.

*Today is Fun Friday and there will be a one lunch bell schedule with Jamba Juice, Kona Ice and pizza for sale.

*Monday, Sept. 16th is a Minimum Day, students are released at 1:30pm.

* Attention Explorers!  Remember to support our school-wide fundraiser by selling Gift Check Books. For more books, please see the representatives before school at the table set up by the front gate.  Money and books can be returned to your 1st period teacher or with the representatives. Sale ends Wednesday, 9-18-19. So sell, sell, sell!!!!

*If you would like to be in the school play- auditions will be today after school.  Stop by Room 502 or LM3 to get information about auditions as well as to pick your audition materials.

*Dress Code Reminder
As the weather continues to be warm, here is a reminder about the Dress Code.  The Visalia Unified School District Student Conduct Code for grades 7-12 reads as follows:  Clothes shall be worn as intended and be sufficient to conceal undergarments which shall be worn and covered at all times.  See-through or fish-net fabrics, halter tops, tube tops, spaghetti straps, off-the shoulder and low-cut tops are not acceptable.  Other types of dress that expose bare midriffs or cleavage are prohibited.  Basketball jersey style tank tops with scooped front, back and armholes are only allowed if worn with a T-shirt with sleeves.  Shirts with cut-off sleeves are not allowed. Hoodies, beanies, or any head gear may not be worn within the classroom.  Cell phones must be turned off and out of sight.

Sports ANNOUNCEMENTS

La Joya JV played a tough match against CVC on Wednesday. First game they lost 22-25, second game 21-25. Both games were close and the girls made some excellent plays. Madison Gonzales led the girls in serves. Sienna Rivas had a couple hits. Mikayla Ramirez and Mikayla Moreno had some good serves and digs for the team. Come out and watch the girls take on Ridgeview Monday.

The next PTSA meeting will be held on Monday, Sept. 16th at 5:30pm in the Library.
