STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

* Looking for something to do tomorrow?  You can take a step back in time with historical movies and arts and crafts with Mr. Saroca, work on your history project with Ms. Austerman, or if you are in the play this is your rehearsal time. On top of that, attending helps you make up an unexcused absence. *Band is selling pizza today, $2 a slice and $1 for a water.

*Reminder to all play participants - play practice is today after school in LM3 until 5:00pm

*Congratulations to Obed Bautista Lepe, Alex Esteban, Leah Valencia, Marea Vidak, Amber Dresp, David Florez, Lana Gibson, and Dallas Redondo for showing Responsibility and winning the Character Counts award for September.


Sports ANNOUNCEMENTS

The LaJoya Varsity football team defeated JFK of Hanford, 40 - 6, on Wednesday. Offensive standouts were Keynen Gomez (2 touchdowns); Jayden Lopez (1 touchdown); Santana Guijarro (2 touchdowns and a 2-point conversion); Vincent Lozano (1 touchdown); and Frankie Martinez (a 2-point conversion) . Defensive standouts were Emmanuel Robles and Aiden Del Rio (one interception each), and Macie Banks.


JV Football played a hard fought game against Divisidero on Wednesday.  Although the outcome was not favorable for the Explorers, the team played well on offense and defense.  Notable players on defense were Cash Marquez with a nice interception. Joseph Pena threw down great blocks and had one sack.  Justin Alcala played a solid defensive game with flag pulls and pass deflections. And Jacob Avila ran in the team's second touchdown of the season.  Keep up the good work team! Go Explorers!
