Morgan Phillipe and Bella Villarreal each scored two goals. Alyviah Sanchez scored 1 goal. Assists by Isabella Stuhaan and Alyviah Sanchez. Alisha Vasquez came up with 8 saves. Allison Alvarez and Carmen Gaebe shut down their offense on defense. Great job ladies! The Girls JV Basketball Team kept their winning streak rolling defeating Green Acres on Monday 34 - 21. Alani Carranza was unstoppable scoring a game high 20 points, with Citali Barajas adding 4 points and multiple assists, Khianna Hardwick with 4 points and Santana Mendez with 4 points and strong defense. Great job ladies! Their final game will be today at Woodrow Wilson. Wednesday 2/5 Basketball/Soccer Games vs. Woodrow Wilson @ 3:30pm. Leading the Explorers were Ezra Ayers (14 points), Owen Reimer (7), Jacob Avila (6), Joseph Pena and Matthew Perez (4), Logan Tavarez and Nathan Gurrola (2). Great gritty win boys! On Monday the Varsity Girls Basketball team had a well fought game but took a loss to Green Acres. The team is battling both sickness and injury and lost by three points, by a score of 28-31. Olivia Torres and Reyna Soto each had nine points. Kalisa Holmes was coming back from the flue and scored 8. Jenevee Campos came off the bench, showed great hustle and scored 4. Defensive players of the game were Anabelle Navarro and Katelyn Ramos. On Wednesday the Girls Varsity Basketball team had defeated Woodrow Wilson by a score of 42-16. The team started off slow on offense, but once they figured it out, they poured on the scoring. Defense was great all game long. Anabelle Navarro played awesome at point guard, making the right plays with the basketball. She also played amazing defense causing many turnovers. Kaitlyn Ramos fought off her sickness and gave an amazing effort all game. On offense Olivia Torres took over the game and scored 15pts. Olivia Torres had 6 assists to Kalisa Holmes who finished with 18pts. Reyna Soto played with a lot of intensity and finished with 6pts. The Girls Varsity Basketball Team finished league play in first place with a record of 10-1 and an overall record of 12-2. Today, come dressed like your future Career, and tomorrow is Dress '90's Day, so show your best 90's attire! Dress code still applies. *A reminder about the Dress Code. The Visalia Unified School District Student Conduct Code for grades 7-12 reads as follows: Clothes shall be worn as intended and be sufficient to conceal undergarments which shall be worn and covered at all times. See-through or fish-net fabrics, halter tops, tube tops, spaghetti straps, off-the shoulder and low-cut tops are not acceptable. Other types of dress that expose bare midriffs or cleavage are prohibited. Basketball jersey style tank tops with scooped front, back and armholes are only allowed if worn with a T-shirt with sleeves. Shirts with cut-off sleeves are not allowed. Hoodies, beanies, or any head gear may not be worn within the classroom. Cell phones must be turned off and out of sight. Also, beanies will not be permitted as of March 1. *Calling all 8th graders!!! Mark your calendar! This orientation will take place at 5:30 p.m. in the El Diamante Gymnasium.
