Good morning Explorers, let's remember to have La Joya PRIDE in everything we do!


STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS



* Looking for something to do tomorrow?   Come to Saturday Academy.  You can get work done with Ms. Moore, watch some movies with Mrs. Allen, or rehearse for the play with Ms. Denton.   On top of that, attending helps you make up an unexcused absence. Sign up<https://forms.gle/iB6RXnZ8wTaLNjVy5> through the La Joya website, and encourage a friend to sign up too.

* Students, show your school spirit next week during College Awareness Week.  On Monday come dressed in your pajamas, but don't sleep on college preparedness!  Show your dedication to getting college ready by dressing in your nerdiest outfit on Tuesday.  Wednesday is your chance to show up in your college gear, and finally Thursday come dressed like your future Career!  Dress code still applies.

* Attention 7th graders, are you interested in going to DC and New York City in 2021?  Mark your calendars for March 12th!  More information to come!
* Our amazing groundskeeper works very hard to make sure that the campus has beautiful flowers, plants, trees, and grass.  Please show respect for his efforts by leaving the plants intact, not pulling off their flowers or buds, and staying off the grass.  Also, pick up any trash on the ground you many find, even if it's not yours.    Let's show PRIDE in our campus!

* Band is selling pizza today, $2 a slice and $1 for a water.

*When bringing money to make purchases on campus, please do not bring anything larger than a $10 bill.   Also, if you are interested in being a Cafeteria worker, please see Mrs. McLeroy in the Cafeteria before school or at break.


Sports ANNOUNCEMENTS


Friday 2/21

Spring try-outs will begin on Monday, February 24th. Sign-up sheets are inside both locker rooms. Family ID forms must be filled out before try-outs begin. Forms can be found on the La Joya Website, also can be found in both locker rooms. (See Mr. Souza for more information)
