STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

School Pictures

Larson Brothers Photography will be here on Monday, December 7th and Tuesday, December 8th, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. both days.   Please enter through the bus lane on the west side of campus off Crenshaw by the park.  We will have two stations set up behind the cafeteria for pictures.

Attention Crewmates - Someone's Pretending to do Their Tasks
The Among Us Tournament is TOMORROW!! Have you got what it takes to survive the La Joya Among Us Tournament? Join us tomorrow, December 2nd at 3:30pm. Check your Schoology Updates to go to the Among Us Website for more information. Zoom Link is on the Website posted in your Schoology Updates. See you tomorrow at 3:30pm!

ASI Information

ASI will take place Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  Don't forget to check your email to see if your teacher has assigned you to ASI.  ASI is not optional, be sure to show LJ pride and attend your assigned interventions.

Grab-n-Go Meals will be distributed once a week, on Thursdays ONLY at two service times.

  *   Day service: 10:00am to 12:00 pm
  *   Evening service: 5:00pm to 7:00pm

LOCATION:  In front of the school, in the parking lot.
Breakfast and Lunch will be provided for the entire week, for students enrolled in VUSD


Congratulations!

The following students have received positive referrals.  For 7th grade, Max Jimenez and Armando Saldano, and for 8th grade Jayceon Cutfinger and Kameron Carney.  Way to go Explorers!  Keep checking future bulletins, as there will be more names to follow.


La Joya Film Festival

Are there any Actors, Directors, and Editors out there!? Do you want to show off your movie making skills!? If so, we are holding La Joya's first ever film festival! All you have to do is create an original five to ten minute movie based off of one of the six categories. All of the information needed will be posted on our Film Festival Website which can be found in the Film Festival Update on your Course Dashboard. The email addresses of the Event Organizers can be found on the Film Festival Website so that you can email them if you have any questions. We are looking forward to seeing your submissions!


WEDNESDAY REMINDERS

ADVISORY FROM  8:20AM TO 8:30AM FOR ALL STUDENTS.  Asynchronous learning will occur for all students.  Additionally, students may be selected for enrichment and/or intervention via small group instruction.  Small groups will be scheduled on Wednesday mornings between 8:40am and 12:10pm.  *Sites will schedule groups according to need.


ORCHESTRA instruments, tuning and fix-it time is every Wednesday from 11- noon.
