"It's Cool to Go to School III"

Ø  The high school attendance incentive program-"It's Cool to Go to School"-is back!  Any student with PERFECT attendance this year is automatically entered into the drawing for a new Nissan Versa, courtesy of the Groppetti Automotive Family.  There are two ways to achieve PERFECT attendance this year; please visit your Attendance Office for contest rules.

1. Come out to the quad this Friday at lunch for cultural food day. There will be food vendors selling lunch rain or shine.

2. Are you interested in being in ASB? If so, stop by K5 and pick up an application. Reminder that ASB and Class officer applications are due on April 18th, and applications for the class are due April 24th.

3. Need help in your classes? Come to PM Tutorial. We have tutors specialize in all levels of Math, English, Science, Social Science, and Spanish. Our tutors are ready to help!

Ø  Have questions concerning College or Careers? Come and visit you College and Career Ambassador at the library before and after school.

Ø  Interested in joining a club? Come to S-11 and find out about the various opportunities

4. We are in need of SCICON Counselors for the week of April 18th. Please sign in the counseling office if you are able to attend.
5.  Would you like to be in a MW Dance class next school year? Dance Auditions are coming up for students who would like to audition for Intermediate, Advanced or Elevate for 2017-18.  If you would like to be in Intro to Dance, you do not need to audition.  Clinics are March 30th and April 4th from 6-7:30 pm and the actual audition is TOMORROW Wednesday, April 5.  Please pick up an audition packet in M-10 or see Mrs. A with any questions!
6. Hey future link leaders! Applications for next year are now available in the front office and in K-7. Swing by before, at lunch or after school to pick up an application! They are due no later than April 21st!
7. Come to S-11 the XL Pro Youth Office to sign up for Co-Ed Soccer!  No experience needed. Practice schedule will be posted at a later date!

8. Coupon? Who's got a coupon? If you received a coupon for a discount on the purchase of a yearbook, remember we have a limited number of books left to sell and the coupons are only good through this Friday. Go to Room B-207 to reserve your book NOW!

9. If you would prefer to take History online for summer school, instead of regular summer school, you must sign up in the counseling office. Spots are limited; it is first come first serve.

SPORTS BULLETIN

April 4

Congratulations to the JV baseball team who defeated Sunnyside 11-4 on Saturday.  Ike Horn had 2 Doubles with 8 strikeouts, Braydon Samuels had 2 doubles and Nick Magana had 6 strikeouts.  On Friday, the JV team defeated El Diamante 8-4.  Leading the way were Brandyn Candeleria with a Triple and Homerun, Zack Reza with a homerun, and Tyler Dean with 5 strikeouts.

The boys' soccer awards banquet will be on Friday, April 7 in the MW Cafeteria.  The Wrestling awards banquet will be on Monday, April 17 in the MW Cafeteria.

Teachers, there are no early outs today.  For tomorrow, April 5, please excuse the track team at 2:15, the bus will leave for Groppetti Stadium at 2:30 and the softball team at 2:30, the bus will leave for Hanford West at 2:45.  Thank you and good luck to all our student-athletes.

1.  Attention seniors:  If you applied to a 4 year college and you received a D or an F on your transcript last semester, or if you dropped or changed a class that you reported on your college application, you ABSOLUTELY MUST let the college Admission Offices know!  You can either call or email, but emailing is the preferred method, so that you have proof of making them aware.  If you do not contact them concerning these circumstances, there is a very good chance that the colleges will revoke your admission offer, because you will be falsifying your application.  The UC and CSU campuses report that they will definitely revoke your admission offer, if you do not make them aware of these circumstances. For more information or questions, please see your counselor or Mrs. Sarabian.

2. On Friday, April 7th, Seniors will be sent to the Gym after taking attendance ONLY DURING 4th Period to receive their Cap and Gowns.  So any Seniors that you have in your classes 4th period please send to the Gym after taking roll.

Visalia Unified Teachers Association

Deadline: April 10, 2017

Amount: $250

Criteria:

1.  This scholarship is designed for students who intend to major in education studies at the college level in order to become teachers.

2.  Some active involvement in school activities, sports, performing arts, clubs

3.  Must be 2016 VUSD graduating senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, and be on track for graduation

Application Process:  Please stop by the MWHS Counseling Office for the application packet.
