"It's Cool to Go to School III"
Ø The high school attendance incentive program-"It's Cool to Go to School"-is back! Any student with PERFECT attendance this year is automatically entered into the drawing for a new Nissan Versa, courtesy of the Groppetti Automotive Family. There are two ways to achieve PERFECT attendance this year; please visit your Attendance Office for contest rules.

1. If you would prefer to take History online for summer school, instead of regular summer school, you must sign up in the counseling office. Spots are limited; it is first come first serve.
2. Attention ALL MW Athletes! If you plan on participating in any sport next school year, NOW is the time to register for the SPORT PHYSICAL CLINIC on Thursday, May 18th in the MW Gym. You can pick up forms in the Nurse's Office or Attendance Office. Please return the completed forms and $2.00 to the Nurse by Friday May 12th. No late registrations will be taken.
3. THIS IS CRAZY! Unless Jostens can order us more yearbooks, we only have 29 books left that we can sell!! We will be having a ONE DAY ONLY SALE on Friday, May 5th. $80, CASH ONLY (normally $90), Room B-207 before school and at lunch only while they last! First come, first served...don't go without a yearbook, it's going to be GREAT!

SPORTS BULLETIN
April 25
Congratulations to the Varsity baseball team for their 9-4 victory over Lemoore on Friday night. Starting pitcher Holden Powell had 13 strikeouts to lead a dominant performance on the mound. With the win the Pioneers improved to 4-2 in the WYL.
Congratulations to the Varsity softball team for their 10-8 victory over Golden West on Friday. Winning pitcher was McKenzie Huff who pitched a complete game giving up only 2 earned runs. Leading on offense were Katlyn Coffman who hit a home run and scored 4 runs, Adriana Saenz who had a home run and 3 RBIs, and Evelyn Havran and Lexi Barrios each with 2 RBIs.
Congratulations to the JV softball team for defeating Golden West 10-0 on Friday. Alyssa Hackney pitched a no-hitter and Lady Pioneers played errorless defense.
Congratulations to the boys varsity tennis team for their 9-0 sweep of Hanford yesterday. Winning their singles matches were Seth Herrera, Andrew Vadnais, Nick Murphy, Joseph Notarnicola, Peyton Ray and Jed Whetstone. Winning their doubles matches were the teams of Herrera and Vadnais, Notarnicola and Aaron Macagba, and Whetstone and Jason Rosas.

For Wednesday, April 26, please excuse the boys tennis team at 2:30, you are on your own to Redwood, the baseball teams at 2:45 for home game vs. Hanford West, and the softball teams at 3:00 for home game vs. El Diamante. Club Notes
1. Mecha Club is meeting every Thursday at lunch in T2. Everyone is welcome!
2. Medical Careers Club Meeting this Friday 4/28 at 1:10 in U-3. We will discuss end of year events! Be there and tell your friends!
3. New link Crew leaders! There will be a mandatory meeting at lunch on Monday, May 1st in K-7. We will discuss plans for the May development day.

It's Audition Time for Speeches at MWHS Commencement 2017
There will be two speech opportunities at this year's Commencement Ceremony:
#1- the Welcome Speech--a pre-written speech in English AND Spanish; and
#2- the Senior Speech-written by the applicant.
#1-The Welcome Speech will be a pre-written speech. We need someone to read the English version AND someone to read the Spanish version. When you sign up, you will be given a copy of the speech to practice.
#2-The Senior Speech will be written by the applicant.
Auditions will be held on Thursday, May 11th, after school in Mrs. Oto's classroom, B25. You may sign up with Mrs. Eickelberg beginning Monday, May 1st. You may choose to audition for all speeches OR just one.

Amount: $100,000 in scholarships to 40 individuals
Criteria:
