"It's Cool to Go to School III"
Ø The high school attendance incentive program-"It's Cool to Go to School"-is back! Any student with PERFECT attendance this year is automatically entered into the drawing for a new Nissan Versa, courtesy of the Groppetti Automotive Family. There are two ways to achieve PERFECT attendance this year; please visit your Attendance Office for contest rules.

1. If you would prefer to take History online for summer school, instead of regular summer school, you must sign up in the counseling office. Spots are limited; it is first come first serve.
2. Attention ALL MW Athletes! If you plan on participating in any sport next school year, NOW is the time to register for the SPORT PHYSICAL CLINIC on Thursday, May 18th in the MW Gym. You can pick up forms in the Nurse's Office or Attendance Office. Please return the completed forms and $2.00 to the Nurse by Friday May 12th. No late registrations will be taken.
3. THIS IS CRAZY! Unless Jostens can order us more yearbooks, we only have 24 books left that we can sell!! We will be having a ONE DAY ONLY SALE THIS Friday, May 5th, FOR $80, CASH ONLY (normally $90). Come to Room B-207 before school or at lunch only while they last! THIS WILL BE YOUR LAST CHANCE TO BUY A YEARBOOK UNTIL OAK DAY. First come, first served...don't go without a yearbook, it's going to be GREAT!
4. Senior Grams on sale now until May 11! Tell your favorite Seniors, "Congratulations. I'll miss you. Love you forever!" Purchase your grams for $2 each in the Quad at lunch. The souvenir Grams will be delivered on Friday May 12.

Great job to the JV softball team who were tied 9-9 going in to the 7th inning. Top hitters were Kelsey Medeiros with a home run and a double, and Alyssa Schott, Sumera Todd, and Jerrica Reynolds with 2 hits each.

Teachers, please excuse the swim and dive team today at 2:30, you are on your own to Redwood. For Friday, April 28, please excuse the boys varsity tennis team all day for the WYL Championships, courts open at 9:00am, the track team at 11:30, the bus will leave at 11:45am for Reedley, and the baseball teams at 2:15, the bus will leave for Hanford West at 2:30. Club Notes
1. Mecha Club is meeting every Thursday at lunch in T2. Everyone is welcome!
2. Medical Careers Club Meeting today Friday 4/28 at 1:10 in U-3. We will discuss end of year events! Be there and tell your friends!
3. New link Crew leaders! There will be a mandatory meeting at lunch on Monday, May 1st in K-7. We will discuss plans for the May development day.
4. PLS (the poetry club) will meet next week Tuesday during lunch in J-5.

It's Audition Time for Speeches at MWHS Commencement 2017
There will be two speech opportunities at this year's Commencement Ceremony:
#1- the Welcome Speech--a pre-written speech in English AND Spanish; and
#2- the Senior Speech-written by the applicant.
#1-The Welcome Speech will be a pre-written speech. We need someone to read the English version AND someone to read the Spanish version. When you sign up, you will be given a copy of the speech to practice.
#2-The Senior Speech will be written by the applicant.
Auditions will be held on Thursday, May 11th, after school in Mrs. Oto's classroom, B25. You may sign up with Mrs. Eickelberg beginning Monday, May 1st. You may choose to audition for all speeches OR just one.

Amount: $100,000 in scholarships to 40 individuals
Criteria:
