Ø  Dress code reminder:  Baseball hats and beanies are not to be worn on campus.  If you have one, please put it in your backpack or in your locker.  These should not be viewable to staff.  See-through or fish-net fabrics, halter tops, tube tops, spaghetti straps, off-the-shoulder and low cut tops are not acceptable. Other types of dress that expose bare midriffs or cleavage are prohibited.

Ø  Attention Bike Riders:  please lock your bikes each day INSIDE the bike rack.  Please do not park them on the outside of the bike rack area.  Thank you.

1. Do you want to get into home games for free? And major discounts on dance tickets? Come buy an ASB sticker in the Amaral Building during lunchtime.

2. ATTENTION FFA MEMBERS!  On Wednesday, August 23nd we will be holding our Annual FFA Back to School BBQ. Come out to the Ag Department at lunch to enjoy a hotdog lunch and earn your first FFA activity point!

3. Are you interested in becoming more involved, and joining a club? Come out to the quad on Wednesday is August 23, 2017 during lunch, for our annual club rush.

4. Employed students:  All work permits will be expiring next week-even if you just got a work permit this summer!!  Please see Mrs. Brett in B208 to obtain a request for a new work permit.

5. Are you looking for an elective class? Come by B-27 and find out what Drama has to offer! It doesn't matter if you are shy and quiet, or extremely outgoing, Drama may be the class for you! Stop by B-27 for more info!

6. Schedule corrections- You may submit a request to fix a schedule in the counseling office during lunch, before and after school. You must continue to attend your scheduled classes until your counselor calls you in.

ID Cards- Returning students who did NOT get an ID at Pioneer Day or Freshman Orientation will get their ID during picture make ups on September 27th.

7. XL will have someone in the Library starting today Monday morning at 7am, and after school Ms. Bullick will be there till 4:30 pm.

8. Picture Retakes are scheduled for August 27, 2017 - Grades 9-11 in the Visitors Team Room,             8:00am-12:00pm.

9. Attention Juniors & Seniors:   If you are interested in being a Scicon counselor for Liberty Elementary School for the week of September 4th -8th. See Miss. Herrera in the counseling office for sign-ups.  It will only be for 4 days. Please make sure you meet the criteria. We are looking for students with good attendance, a GPA of 2.5 or higher, someone who can be a great leader and a role model.

10. Rotary Youth Exchange Scholarship

Study Abroad - An information meeting for parents and students interested in spending a year of their High School studying overseas.

Each year Rotary handles over 8,000 students in this opportunity of a lifetime.

11. YEARBOOK - LOWEST PRICE OF THE YEAR! We will be selling yearbooks in Room B-207 before school and at lunch every Thursday and Friday through September 1st...starting TODAY! They are $80 and you get your name on your book FOR FREE if paid in full before September 1st. Price will go up after that date. Get yours NOW!

12. Mt. Whitney Students! Auditions to be the Pioneer Report Anchor, Mt. Whitney's own monthly news show, will be held Wednesday September 6th. Go to room B-204 and speak with Ms. Delgado for more information and to pick up an audition script.

13. If you are interested in helping make the Junior class shirts, Come to T-1 Monday after school at 3:30 JUNIORS ONLY! :)
14. All band and color guard members! There is a mandatory meeting during lunch today Friday August 18th, we are going to discuss homecoming! :)

                                SPORTS BULLETIN

Aug. 17

Girls Soccer will have a mandatory meeting for all girls interested in playing this year on Aug. 31 at 3:45pm in the P.E. room.  Training will begin on Sept. 5, Tuesday thru Thursday from 4 to 5:00pm.

Boys soccer will be practicing on the freshman baseball field on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00-6:45pm.

Girls tennis practice starts at 3:45 every day on the tennis courts.

Cross country is still taking runners!   They meet at the track after school.

Attention any athlete that is hoping to continue playing in college.  You must be registered with the NCAA Clearinghouse in order to participate as a student-athlete in College.  Please see Mrs. Hernandez in the Counseling Office if you have not registered or have questions.

Anyone interested in a fall sport you must have a sports physical and be registered online with Family ID before you are allowed to practice.  Forms are on the Mt. Whitney website under the Athletics heading or can be picked up in the attendance office.  Anyone that is already practicing and is not cleared yet, you will be pulled from practice until you are cleared.

Teachers, please excuse the volleyball teams today at 12:45 today for scrimmage, the bus will leave for Clovis at 1:00 and the girls golf team today at 1:30, the van will leave for Porterville today at 1:45. For Friday, Aug. 18, please excuse the Frosh and JV football teams at 2:45, you are on your own to the Mineral King Bowl.  There are no early outs for varsity football players.  Thank you and good luck to all our student-athletes.
