"It's Cool to Go to School III"

Ø  The high school attendance incentive program-"It's Cool to Go to School"-is back!  Any student with PERFECT attendance this year is automatically entered into the drawing for a new Nissan Versa, courtesy of the Groppetti Automotive Family.  There are two ways to achieve PERFECT attendance this year; please visit your Attendance Office for contest rules.

1. Need help in your classes? Come to PM Tutorial. We have tutors specialize in all levels of Math, English, Science, Social Science, and Spanish. Our tutors are ready to help!

Ø  Have questions concerning College or Careers? Come and visit you College and Career Ambassador at the library before and after school.

Ø  Interested in joining a club? Come to S-11 and find out about the various opportunities

2. We are in need of SCICON Counselors for the weeks of April 3rd and April 18th. Please sign in the counseling office if you are able to attend.
3. Sign up for AP Testing in the counseling office with Mr. Turney or Mrs. Cantu ASAP! There are fee waivers for those who qualify. The deadline to sign up is March 31!
4.  Would you like to be in a MW Dance class next school year? Dance Auditions are coming up for students who would like to audition for Intermediate, Advanced or Elevate for 2017-18.  If you would like to be in Intro to Dance, you do not need to audition.  Clinics are March 30th and April 4th from 6-7:30 pm and the actual audition is Wednesday, April 5.  Please pick up an audition packet in M-10 or see Mrs. A with any questions!
5. Hey future link leaders! Applications for next year are now available in the front office and in K-7. Swing by before, at lunch or after school to pick up an application! They are due no later than April 21st!
6. Come to S-11 the XL Pro Youth Office to sign up for Co-Ed Soccer!  No experience needed. Practice schedule will be posted at a later date!

SPORTS BULLETIN

Congratulations to the Varsity girls and varsity boys track team who defeated Redwood and Lemoore at yesterday's meet. Also, congratulations to the F-S boys who defeated Redwood and Lemoore to complete the sweep on the day.

Great job to singles players David Hanf and Jed Whetstone and the doubles teams of Seth Herrera and Andrew Vadnais, and Bo Larsen and David Hanf who won their matches against Golden West at yesterday's match. Also, congratulations to the JV team who continued their strong season with a 3-2 victory over Golden West.  Winning their singles matches were Aaron Macagba and Ethan Vadnais, and winning the deciding doubles match was the team of Trew Morse and Julian Baragan.

Attention all senior athletes, the Tulare County Office of Education Pursuing Victor with Honor scholarship deadline is TODAY, March 30, 2017.  This is a $500 scholarship.  Application packet can be picked up in the Attendance Office.

Wrestling awards banquet will be on Monday, April 17 in the MW Cafeteria.

Teachers, please excuse the boys golf team today at 12:00, the van will leave for the Lemoore Golf Course at 12:15 and the swim and dive team today at 2:15, the bus will leave for Lemoore at 2:30.   For Friday, March 31, please excuse the baseball team at 2:45 for home game vs. El Diamante, the track team at 2:45 for the Jared Verbeek Memorial Invitational, and the softball team at 3:00 for home game vs. Lemoore.  Thank you and good luck to all our student-athletes.

2.  CSF:  We are taking nominations for next year's officer positions this week only.  If you are interested in running for a CSF office, stop by I-9 and sign up. Voting will take place next week.

Attention seniors:  If you applied to a 4 year college and you received a D or an F on your transcript last semester, or if you dropped or changed a class that you reported on your college application, you ABSOLUTELY MUST let the college Admission Offices know!  You can either call or email, but emailing is the preferred method, so that you have proof of making them aware.  If you do not contact them concerning these circumstances, there is a very good chance that the colleges will revoke your admission offer, because you will be falsifying your application.  The UC and CSU campuses report that they will definitely revoke your admission offer, if you do not make them aware of these circumstances. For more information or questions, please see your counselor or Mrs. Sarabian.

Visalia Unified Teachers Association

Amount: $250

Criteria:

1.  This scholarship is designed for students who intend to major in education studies at the college level in order to become teachers.

2.  Some active involvement in school activities, sports, performing arts, clubs

3.  Must be 2016 VUSD graduating senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, and be on track for graduation
