1. Cowhide 2017 Dress Up Days- October 30th- November 3rd

Monday- Shine Bright for Josh (Wear Yellow)

Tuesday- Spook the Rivals (Halloween Costumes)

Wednesday- Dressy vs. Messy (Dress Up/ Dress Down)

Thursday- #Throwback Thursday (Different Decades)

Friday- Pioneer Pride (Spirit Day)

2. Do you want to get into Home Games for Free? And get major discounts on dance tickets? Buy an ASB sticker for $30 and save money. ASB stickers are now being sold in the Finance office. They will be sold all year long.
3. Join the 3D Printing Club and learn how to print in 3D.  Meetings are every Tuesday and Thursday in RmS11 from 3:30-6pm.  Want to learn how to 3D print?  The 3D printing club is in Rm S11 every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30-6pm.
4.  Need help with your school work?  Go to the library before and after school.  Teachers, XL staff, and tutors are available to help you.  Visit the XL program in Rm. S11.  They are open all week until 6pm.  Everything they offer is free.  You can get food, participate in fun activities, and get help with school work.
5. Attention all Sophomores- Class shirts are available this year. Come by B-206 or Amaral Building if you would like to order them. The deadline to purchase a class t-shirt is November 15th.
6. It’s time for Musical Auditions!!! Come by B-27 to pick up a packet and join the all-school musicals!
7. Juniors and Seniors interested in taking the ASVAB, sign-ups are in the counseling office before school, during lunch or after school. The test will take place November 9th.
8. Pioneers! Nominate a Mt. Whitney Staff member or Teacher for October Pioneer PRIDE Staff of the Month. It can be any adult on campus who you think shows Pioneer PRIDE (Positivity, Respect, Integrity, Determination, Engagement). Check your vusd.us email for the link to a Google form to fill out. The winner will be honored at the next rally.
9. Attention Students- FFA is running our annual Kiss the Cow Fundraiser.  Donations will be accepted from Oct. 21st- Nov. 3rd.  The staff member with the most money will have to kiss the cow at the Cowhide Rally and all the money earned will be donated to Pioneer Partners. Drop the money in your teacher’s cow jug!

10. Attention MW students, want to do something fun afterschool? XL offers many free programs like Jui-Jitsu and an Outdoors Club. We also offer a free snack. Come by the XL room, S-11, to get more info about these and other programs we offer.

11. Mt. Whitney has a Mock Trial club. They meet Mondays and Wednesday, 6pm-8pm. Come by room S-11 for more info.
12. Weight Lifting Club meets from 3:30-5:00PM Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Weight Room Starting Tuesday, 10/31.  All are welcome!
13. Are you looking for MW sports gear? PBIS will be having a sale at lunch Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Old Football Jerseys $10.  All other items priced for a quick sale.  So bring your dollars and we will see you outside of B-24 starting tomorrow!
14. Help North Coast FFA Chapters affected by fires.  Starts Today, ends 11/13.  Donate items to help.  Talk to an FFA Officer or Ag Teacher with any questions!
15. Today, Campus Life will be playing a “Name That Tune” contest from the 80s during lunch!  Come out and join them for some fun!  All are welcome!

Club Notes


1.     The Gay/Straight Alliance will continue to meet Thursdays in J-14.  All are welcome!


2.    Olympic Weight Lifting Club will be going to competitions.

1.   Every Friday we will have a Fresno State Ambassador in the library to answer any questions you may have regarding admission. If you are interested, please sign up in the counseling office with Ms. Herrera.



2.   SENIORS: Have you purchased a SENIOR AD yet? You have the opportunity to purchase and personalize your very own page in the yearbook! These are popular options in which you, your family, and/or friends, can submit cool/cute pictures and messages in dedication of your senior year. Go to Room B-207 or email Mr. Boucher: rboucher at vusd.org<mailto:rboucher at vusd.org>, but hurry! The absolute deadline for guaranteed submission in this year’s yearbook for the senior ads is THURSDAY: November 9th, 2017.



3.    Seniors- Jostens will be in S-12 TODAY, from 8:00am-3:30pm to collect Cap and Gown orders.  You have permission to turn in your cap and gown order during your Civics or Econ class.  If you do not have a Civics or Econ class, you may turn in your order before school, during lunch, or after school.

1.      Attention Seniors: COS Scholarship Application is now available for the 2018-2019 school year, the deadline is November 27th.  Are you a current high school student or first-time college student? Are you planning on becoming a fall 2018 incoming (first-time) student? If yes, there are two steps to applying for scholarships.
