1. Do you want to get into Home Games for Free? And get major discounts on dance tickets? Buy an ASB sticker for $30 and save money. ASB stickers are now being sold in the Finance office. They will be sold all year long.
2. Join the 3D Printing Club and learn how to print in 3D.  Meetings are every Tuesday and Thursday in RmS11 from 3:30-6pm.  Want to learn how to 3D print?  The 3D printing club is in Rm S11 every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30-6pm.
3.  Need help with your school work?  Go to the library before and after school.  Teachers, XL staff, and tutors are available to help you.  Visit the XL program in Rm. S11.  They are open all week until 6pm.  Everything they offer is free.  You can get food, participate in fun activities, and get help with school work.
4. Attention all Sophomores- Class shirts are available this year. Come by B-206 or Amaral Building if you would like to order them. The deadline to purchase a class t-shirt is November 15th.
5. It’s time for Musical Auditions!!! Come by B-27 to pick up a packet and join the all-school musicals!
6. Juniors and Seniors interested in taking the ASVAB, sign-ups are in the counseling office before school, during lunch or after school. The test will take place November 9th.
7. Pioneers! Nominate a Mt. Whitney Staff member or Teacher for October Pioneer PRIDE Staff of the Month. It can be any adult on campus who you think shows Pioneer PRIDE (Positivity, Respect, Integrity, Determination, Engagement). Check your vusd.us email for the link to a Google form to fill out. The winner will be honored at the next rally.

8. Attention MW students, want to do something fun afterschool? XL offers many free programs like Jui-Jitsu and an Outdoors Club. We also offer a free snack. Come by the XL room, S-11, to get more info about these and other programs we offer.

9. Mt. Whitney has a Mock Trial club. They meet Mondays and Wednesday, 6pm-8pm. Come by room S-11 for more info.
10. Weight Lifting Club meets from 3:30-5:00PM Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Weight Room Starting Tuesday, 10/31.  All are welcome!
11. Help North Coast FFA Chapters affected by fires.  Starts Today, ends 11/13.  Donate items to help.  Talk to an FFA Officer or Ag Teacher with any questions.

                                  SPORTS BULLETIN

Congratulations to the Varsity football team for defeating Redwood 57-56 in the highest scoring Cowhide in its 63 year history.  Leading the way on offense was QB Jaedyn Pineda with almost 500 yards of total offense and accounting for 7 touchdowns, sophomore Jonathan Hadley with 14 catches for 165 yards, Zach Reza with 1 rushing touchdown, Nick Magana with 1 receiving touchdown, and Mason Parker and Anthony Valencia each with huge 2-point conversations. On defense, Jacob Ryals had 12 tackles, Mark Araiza had 9 tackles and Izzy San Miguel had 7 tackles and 1 quarterback sack.  The Pioneers travel to #8 seed Madera on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 7:00pm in the 1st round of the Central Section Playoffs.

Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Water Polo team who defeated #4 seed Strathmore 13-6 in the quarter-finals of the Division 3 Valley playoffs on Saturday.  The Pioneers were led by Nick Casey with 5 goals, Joey Langford had 5 assists and 1 goal, Tim VanScyoc had 3 goals, and Ethan Paim, Johnny Northcutt, Isaiah Rodriguez and Trew Morse each scored one goal.  The boys play at Edison High School in Fresno on Tuesday, Nov. 7 in the Central Section Semi-final game.

Staff and students, please come out and support our very own Kaitlyn Coffman as she will be signing her National Letter of Intent in the MW gym at 3:30pm tomorrow, Nov. 8 to continue her softball career at Ohio State University.

Attention girls interested in trying out for basketball and are not in a fall sport: tryouts continue today and Wednesday. Girls in a fall sport can try out after their season ends. See coach Lopez in U-3 if you have any questions.

Anyone interested in playing boys basketball, tryouts for boys basketball continue today and Wednesday, November 8 starting at 6:00pm.

Anyone interested in baseball, there is a mandatory after school today in the PE Classroom.

End of the season awards banquet: Cross Country, Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 6pm, JV girls polo, Monday, Nov. 27, Varsity girls polo, Tuesday, Nov. 28, Boys Water Polo, Wednesday, Nov. 29.  All awards banquets are in the MW cafeteria.

Teachers, please excuse the boys varsity water polo team today at 2:30, the bus will leave for Edison in Fresno at 2:45.  For Wednesday, Nov. 8 please excuse the Cross Country team at 11:15am, the bus will leave for Mooney Grove at 11:30am.  Thank you and good luck to all our student-athletes.

1.   Every Friday we will have a Fresno State Ambassador in the library to answer any questions you may have regarding admission. If you are interested, please sign up in the counseling office with Ms. Herrera.



2.   SENIORS: Have you purchased a SENIOR AD yet? You have the opportunity to purchase and personalize your very own page in the yearbook! These are popular options in which you, your family, and/or friends, can submit cool/cute pictures and messages in dedication of your senior year. The absolute deadline for guaranteed submission in this year’s yearbook for the senior ads is THURSDAY: November 9th, 2017.
