1. Do you want to get into Home Games for Free? And get major discounts on dance tickets? Buy an ASB sticker for $30 and save money. ASB stickers are now being sold in the Finance office. They will be sold all year long.

2. Attention MW Pioneer fans- MW volleyball is selling MW Pioneer shirts to promote PIONEER PRIDE.  They are just $15.  Want to go all out with your Pioneer Pride?  You can purchase the PIONEER PRIDE PACKAGE- this comes with the MW PIONEER shirt, a MW PIONEER fan and a MW PIONEER decal for your car....all for just $20.  Please show your PIONEER PRIDE by purchasing your PIONEER gear.  You may also go to the front office to get this Amazing and Affordable package! GO PIONEERS!!!!!!  Volleyball thanks you for your support!

3. Moonlight Harvest Tickets will be on sale beginning Monday, Oct. 9th in the Finance Office.  The Harvest Dance is Saturday, October 14th from 8-11 pm at the El Diamante High School Gym.  Tickets are sold per individual $15 with an ASB sticker, $25 without, and $35 at the door.  You MUST obtain a clearance slip from the Library in order to purchase your ticket.  You may do so before school, during lunch or after school in the Library.  If you wish to take a guest from a DIFFERENT school district, you must get a Guest Pass Form approved no later than Thursday, October 12th with Mrs. Reyes.  They are available in the Attendance Office.

4. Junior Class- If you are a junior and you want to purchase a class shirt, go to T-8 or the Amaral Building to get an order form.  Order forms must be in by October 12th.

5. Varsity Football Players get your Cowhide Bio sheet into Ms. Shipley by October 17th, or it will not be read in the rally.
6. Students interested in Video Production, Digital Photography, Recording Music or other media can join the Media Arts Club. It will be start on Oct 13th.  Meetings will be every other Friday after school in Rm B204.
7. Join the 3D Printing Club and learn how to print in 3D.  Meetings are every Tuesday and Thursday in RmS11 from 3:30-6pm.  Want to learn how to 3D print?  The 3D printing club is in Rm S11 every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30-6pm.
8.  Need help with your school work?  Go to the library before and after school.  Teachers, XL staff, and tutors are available to help you.  Visit the XL program in Rm. S11.  They are open all week until 6pm.  Everything they offer is free.  You can get food, participate in fun activities, and get help with school work.
9. On Monday October 30th, MWHS will be holding its bi-annual blood drive in the gym, in honor of Josh Villarreal. Our goal is to raise 200 pints of blood!   We are asking staff, faculty, students, and Community members to come out and support this great cause, and Donate in honor of Josh.  If you are a fall sport athlete and cannot donate, we are challenging you to get two people to donate in your place. To participate, pick up a blood drive packet from the front office, or in k-5 and see Ms. Shipley to sign up for a time by October 27th. The California Blood Center is in dire need of blood. Come out and donate, you can help save a life!

                                  SPORTS BULLETIN

Congratulations to the Varsity Football team for their 43-34 victory over Hanford West on Friday night. On offense, QB Jaedyn Pineda had 350 yards of total offense and 3 Touchdowns, Juan Garcia rushed for 140 yards and 1 touchdown, Izzy San Miguel had 1 touchdown, Zach Reza had over 100 yards of total offense and 1 touchdown, and Anthony Valencia had 117 yards receiving and 1 touchdown.  The defense was led by San Miguel with 9 tackles and 1.5 quarterback sacks, Kade Kiser added 8 tackles, John Banks had 5 tackles and 1 QB sack, and Jacob Torres had 5 tackles and 1.5 QB sacks.  Next up for the Pioneers is Lemoore in Lemoore this Friday.

Congratulations to the JV football team for their 46-0 victory over Hanford West last Friday.  The defense played a terrific game to preserve the shutout victory. Josue Cisneros and Justin Tripp had 2 touchdowns, and Alex Ochoa, Chris Candelaria, and Moses Garcia all had 1 touchdown.

Great job to the girls golf team who finished 4th at the WYL mini-tournament at the Kings Country Club with a season low team score of 287, led by Nancy Rocha and her 49 low score.  At last week's WYL mini-tournament the Lady Pioneers finished 5th led by Chloe Jennings low round score of 52, a personal best.

The MWHS Aquatics Boosters is hosting the 2nd Annual Mt. Whitney Inner Tube Water Polo Tournament Saturday, October 14th at the MWHS Pool from 9 PM to 4 PM.  Last year the MWHS Faculty Team dominated the competition and won the tournament. They will return this year to defend their title.  The tournament is only open to 12 teams with 7 to 10 players each.  Contact any Mt. Whitney boys water polo player to form a team.  Prizes will be awarded and the concession stand will be open.  Team entries are due by today, October 10th.

Girls soccer training/conditioning/tryouts starting Monday, October. If you are not playing a fall sport and you plan on playing soccer you need to be attending!! Monday thru Thursday from 4:00-5:30 at the freshmen baseball field.

Attention all female and male students who are interested in wrestling: Practices are Tuesdays and Thursday from 3:30-5:30 in the wrestling room.  If you are interested, please see Coach Meza in room K12 for more information.  No experience needed.

Attention any athlete that is hoping to continue playing in college.  You must be registered with the NCAA Clearinghouse in order to participate as a student-athlete in College.  Please see Mrs. Hernandez in the Counseling Office if you have not registered or have questions.

Reminder all student-athletes, you must attend every class period on game dates or you will not be allowed to play on that day.

Attention all volleyball players, we have added a contact with Monache on Thursday, Oct. 12 at Monache.

1.     The Gay/ Straight Alliance will meet weekly in J-14 on Thursdays from now on.  All are welcome anytime.

2.    Hey Key Clubbers!  We have a meeting on Today in B25 @ 12:50.  Come by to see what upcoming volunteer opportunities are out there and to order a Key Club t-shirt.  See you there!

1.   Attention Seniors: Every Friday we will have a Fresno State Ambassador in the library to answer any questions you may have regarding admission. If you are interested, please sign up in the counseling office with Ms. Herrera.

2.    Attention Seniors:  If you are planning on applying to a University of California campus or a California State University campus for Fall 2018, you need to sign up for their Application Workshops that we are holding at school, so that you can get help filling it out.  The UC workshop is on Monday Oct. 23 and the CSU is on Monday Oct 30. If you did not already sign up in your English class, be sure to come into the counseling office to sign up.  For more info see Mrs. Sarabian or Ms. Herrera.

3.   SENIORS: Who will be the Most Likely to Surprise Us at our 20 year reunion? Which one of us will be the next American Idol? Go to your school email account and vote for this year's Senior Superlatives by this Friday, October 13th.

4.    SENIORS: IT'S OUR TIME! Please excuse all seniors at 12:10pm next Tuesday, October 17th for the annual senior group picture for the yearbook. Meet ASAP on the grass area by the choir room. No props, signs, hand gestures, etc. Sitting on someone's shoulders allowed in the back row only. Please be careful not to block anyone's face from the picture. Anyone not willing to follow these guidelines and those of the photographer and administration will be asked to leave and will not be in the picture. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
