?  Attention Students:

ALL students who are not in the gate when the tardy bell rings 1st period will be given a lunch detention and ID taken.  Please report to B-24 for lunch detention and ID will be returned.  Because there is no detention on Fridays, If you come in late on Friday, you will not be allowed to leave campus for lunch and will have to serve detention on Monday.

1. Landed a job and need a work permit?  Come to the front office and pick up an application with Mrs. Reyes



2. Juniors and Seniors- We are in need of Scicon counselors, If you are interested and want more information, please see Ms. Herrera in the counseling office (L-2).


3. Due to the excessive miss-use of skateboards on campus, there will be no skateboards stored in teacher's classrooms, carrying of skateboards on campus, or riding on campus.  All skateboards will be stored at the beginning of the day in the skateboard lockers.  Anyone breaking the rules will lose the privilege of bringing a skateboard at all and they will be confiscated.
4. FOR THE LOVE OF ART! - Are you or do you know a high school student artist looking to make $ on their art?  Visalia Education Foundation (VEF) can help students sell their art...it's easy and fun!  Check out VEF's website for information on their upcoming art show and sale, For the Love of Art at http://www.visaliaedfoundation.org/. The deadline for submission is Thursday, February 27th, but it's not too early to start thinking about what you'll create!
5. Did you make your parents proud with your latest report card?  If so, you may qualify for membership in CSF, California Scholarship Federation. CSF rush week is this week only, so come by I-9 before school or at lunch to turn in your application.  Bring your report card and $5 dues.  Fee waivers are available, just see Miss Domena.


6. CSF upperclassmen, if you are interested in helping with Membership Rush week to earn service points, see Miss Domena in I-.9.   Membership Rush week is TODAY-7th and you can sign up to work before school or lunchtime shifts.  Thanks.
7. Congratulations to Mt. Whitney Winter Percussion for getting first place at their first competition on Saturday Feb. 1st at Lemoore High School.

Club Notes



1.     Anime Club meeting will be every Thursday in Rm. H3 during lunch



2.     Interact Club meets are on Mondays at J-8.  All are welcome.  There will be pizza and food.





3.     The GSA meetings this semester are rescheduled for Thursdays during lunch.  We are still meeting in Room T-5. All are welcome; see you there!



4.     Hello All pet lovers, SPCA will be having a meeting TOMORROW at lunch in room T-4.  Bring your lunch and come join.  Hope to see you there!



5.      Attention ALL Link Crew members- TOMORROW, there will be a mandatory meeting in I-7 at the beginning of lunch regarding the 8th-grade visit on the 27th. Please attend to get all the necessary information.  There will also be workdays February 8th and 22nd at Saturday School. Sign-Up today in I-7. See Mr. Naylor in I-7 for details.

1.  Attention Seniors:  Grad Nite 2020 is coming!!!  It's time to save the date and your money for Grad Nite 2020.  Grad Nite is scheduled for Saturday, May 16th and May 17th, 2020!  Tickets go on sale TODAY and TOMORROW  (Wednesday and Thursday) each day before school (7:00am-8:15 am) AND after school (3:21-4:30 pm) in the Library.  The ticket price is $250 and the number of tickets is limited.  To purchase your ticket you need following items: 1). fines clearance form from the Librarian, 2) a completed and signed Permission Slip Form, 3) Student ID card, and 4) payment in full (cash or check).  Permission Slips will be in the Front Office, Counseling or Attendance Offices. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Reyes or Mr. Kuhn.

1.      Must be involved in one of the following:
*     Sports
*     Performing Arts (Band, Orchestra, Choir, Dance, Drama)
*     Visual Arts (Art, Graphics, Film)

2.   GPA of at least 2.5.
3.   Must be a Mt. Whitney PTA member (Please attach copy of membership card). If you are not currently a member you can still join!
4.   Plan to attend a two or four year college in the fall of 2020.
5.   Must submit proof of college acceptance, if awarded the scholarship.
6.   DEADLINE:  Friday, March 27, 2020 by 3:30p.m. Please Pick up application in the counseling office, and submit essay, unofficial transcript and your activities record to Ms. Bravo in the counseling office.
